Does the 2017 std track pkg devalue the 2016 tech pkg?

Nope - it was scheduled for completion today. I'm not expecting perfection - every car is different, and minor defects are part of its character. (I wouldn't kick Cindy Crawford out of bed for having a mole on her face, but if she looked like a witch, I'd never let her in the door.) :p
Careful now. One man's witch is another man's princess.

Will the 17 MY have the light weight aluminum tower-to-tower brace, or the stamped steel? It just seems to me that Ford is making the production process easier by building a car that has all the same mechanical features. By using all the same equipment for all the cars (excluding R models), it will reduce the price of those components and thus, the MSRP to $54,900. The reality is that 95%+ use of these cars will be street driven and people today want all the conveniences of a stereo system, power seats, leather, Nav, etc. I will venture to say it will continue for the MY17, by people selecting the package that includes these conveniences. Sorry if this has been already stated, didn't read whole thread.

If the Track Pkg is standard, what are the options? Just the upgraded stereo/nav option?

Yes. There is the electronics package that adds stereo/nav and the convience package that adds the stereo/nav/heated seats/garage door opener/etc

Maybe it's the opposite. Now I will have the rare decklid spoiler and none of those heavy coolers weighing me down ;)

However, it looks like I will have a fairly easy path to add the features I want to my tech pack car, so I will be very happy in the end.

And the seats and entertainment system in the tech pack are way better than I expected. I didn't originally care about them, but now that I have them I think they are awesome. I feel spoiled and just love my tech pack car. Every time I drive it (like today) I get a thrill. 99% of the time I'm on the street and I'm having a blast. So, while for me I was mad when Ford announced the features on the 2017, I'm getting over it. I understand that with cars the manufacturer is always trying to make next year's version better.
I agree with this 100%, as my plans for the use of my Tech Pack car change, I can change the car to do whatever I need it to.
I don't get these posts that suggest we are stuck with anything less than what we want or that it will affect the value of the car. It seems like a lot of these people that are complaining are not capable, or don't want to initiate the work to upgrade. If I want R level of performance on the track, I can easily build it into the car for a lot less $$ than I would be paying for an R model, and it would most likely be a step above an R model. I'm not a collector, I'm a driver and I bought this car to serve a purpose, not as an investment. I have built a number of race cars and street cars from scratch, and I can do the same with my GT350 if needed.
Rant over . . .

I don't give a crap about any potential value loss of my track pack. I'm just annoyed that I couldn't get it with all these new options! I'm stuck with this shite stereo system that apparently NO audio shop locally understands or will even TOUCH to upgrade it for me. Grrrrr!

The 17 option list is the way the 350 should have been made from the start. They should fire the ass hat the made those 2016 option packages.

This.

You know the end users are going to be in upheaval about any differences. Particularly when they cost the same.

We should refrain from making things up. We don't know what the pricing will be. Most people aren't going to be surprised when it goes up a bit but we just don't know at this point.

I was referencing the negligible price difference for MY16 btwn a track and tech pkg. Not btwn model years. I think we know those numbers....sorry I wasn't very clear.

The 2017 with the "Convenience" Package will have 2 more speakers, the trans and diff cooler and the duck tail spoiler over the car that I bought. I don't care about the 2 extra cheap audio system speakers, I am not going to track the car so the extra coolers are not necessary for me and the spoiler is not an issue either. The real story will be on how much the MSRP will go up because you are basically getting a tech pack track pack blend. I actually feel that I have something unique since there was only a one year and a month run on the tech pack cars.
:amen:
Good points all around ML-Also, I prefer my deck lid spoiler over the R spoiler any day- makes my 2016 Tech pkg, AG, blk stripes and roof less conspicuous....
