http://www.stangtv.com/news/strong-rumor-the-next-shelby-gt500-could-it-be-an-awd-ecoboost-v6/ new GT350 already has the spine up front for the front rotors to accept an all-wheel-drive system but so far there's no been no word officially of an all-wheel-drive Mustang. I would be more than welcoming retrofitting an all-wheel-drive system in my GT if one ever came out.
Lol there is a lot more to an AWD system then just having splines in the hub. That doesn't mean anything. No way the S550 mustang will be AWD, don't see how thats possible and honestly I don't know why its even needed. The Mustang is selling great already. AWD would add too much complexity IMO.

The mountain of mis-information in this thread is just overwhelming.

If you want to get some inside information, go to the Hellcat forum and read ResumeSpeed's posts.

The Demon is going to have more HP (no numbers released), it will be lighter, it will be wider, wider tires and it will not be AWD.

ResumeSpeed also posted that they were testing the Demon and it ran 9's. Before anyone has a stroke, this isn't the production Demon. It will comfortably run 10's.

Many are assuming 800-850 hp because the original HC motor made 850 hp before they detuned it and got it to pass emissions.

I hope this helps.

Now back to your scheduled Dodge bashing and praying for a GT500 that doesn't end up being slower than the ZL1.

Thanks for providing meaningful insight...A lighter, more powerful Version of the Hellcat is just what the speed doctors ordered. The American horsepower war is alive and well between Chevy, Dodge, & Ford. Gas mileage - pfftttt!

No mention of limited production and it will NOT be a dedicated track car. However, 305's up front and 315 drag radials from the factory will be an option.

The Demon will be a 2018 model year and they will make standard HCs with 707 hp. The ADR Demon will get a bump.

Not sure how the fender flares are going to be done, but consensus is not a fan of the bolt on look of the Challenger GT concept car.

Actually, the lead engineer behind the Hellcat has already stated that the original Hellcat was only slated to have 625hp. Then Ford dropped the 662hp bomb, and Dodge scrambled to one up them. Management wanted 675hp out of the Hellcat, but the engineers busted to get more out of it and for it to be production ready: end-result = 707hp.

The stock motors are capable of huge power; got a friend of mine who's doing a few simple bolt on's and will make over 900whp... they're nuts haha

Very glad to see they are focusing on what is important though in regards to weight removal. Been a long time coming, but at least they are addressing it!

Looks like the zl1 will be the slowest among these two.(gt500, demon)
Top dawg Camaro back to the end of the line for the straights. Overall, ZL1 may have the overall package but in terms of pure muscle, it looks like it might be last.

Dodge is pretty crazy with this Demon stuff! Hope Ford makes the GT500 just as beastly.. a muscle, gas guzzler badass!

You are correct on the initial numbers. What I meant is the motor that is in the Hellcat now was making 850 crank hp (before the certifications and meeting emmissions regulations).

For $5k, you can get them into the 9's. (DR's, e85 tune, pulleys and driveshaft). Porker or not, that is a great bang for the buck.

If you read into Tim K's quote....it may be .5 secinds quicker in the quarter. May only be drag suspension settings, DR's and a 50 hp bump since that is all it would take to chop ogf a half second.

That would be weird for the ad department then. They transformed a four legged animal into a two legged demon. Playing on the whole going from 4 to 2 thing would be a big brain fart for whoever came up with that ad. That's just me though, thinking like an ad agency exec...
I don't think people don't pay that much attention. HELLcat and DEMON seem consistent to me. I think "Cerberus" would be a clever name but it isn't instantly recognizable by many, or evil sounding.

Well seeing as Cerberus was a company that bought Chrysler then gutted it for maxim profit.

I can't imagine they aren't to keen on that.

Are we assuming this will happen?
FCA just got a giant foot shoved up its ass.
Where will the money come from?
Look what VW had to do to pay the fines.

VW's Dieselgate and the recent FCA news is literally nothing alike.

This article does a really good job of explaining it.
