Do you guys get stopped a lot ?

Just a curiosity question. As I read a lot of post on mods and what not, I see people always referring to being stopped by cops etc. I can say as a LEO, I love modded cars and always roll my windows down to hear how people's sound etc. I personally don't get two shits how loud, tinted or modded your car is (law wise). I may be the exception though lol :eyebulge:

My 2011 with longtubes is exceptionally loud, but when I drive around town I'm always mindful of my driving style so as to not draw too much negative attention to myself. I've never been pulled over in the Mustang, last time I was pulled over was in my previous Audi when I forgot to renew the registration.

When I 1st got my car I got pulled over 6 times in a 2 week period. 5 said I was speeding. Which I was not. None even gave me a written warning. The 6th one I got a written warning for doing a rolling stop at the stop sign leaving my neighborhood. This one I was guilty of and do it pretty often out of habit. Prior to that it had been several years since I was pulled over. Also all stops were with in 3 miles of my house.

I try not to do things which requires me to be a hypocrite. No front LP, limo tint, and speeding usually 15 over I'm not even looking your directions. Unless say something extreme like a school zone.

Also in law enforcement. I don't care how loud your car is, as long as you're not being a dope and making useless noise. My mustang has catless headers paired with an mbrp exhaust. It's very loud. If I reved my car or drove like a dumbass, I would expect to get stopped too. Sounds like a lot of guys that complain about getting stopped, Rev it out and love to make noise. Sounds like they deserve what they get.

I've never had one issue with a police officer having issues with mods tint etc as long as I was being an ass hat. I have had some in parking lots want to look at whatever car I owned at the time. I've definitely owned cars more attention grabbing than most mustangs

I was young and dumb with my 04 GT and I made my own x-pipe to flowmaster 40's. I drove like and idiot and I got plenty of tickets.

In my older age, I've slowed way down and rarely shift above 2,500rpms. That said, I haven't really even turned many heads, let alone with LEOs. I prefer to keep it that way.

I like to put it in neutral under overpasses and give it a rev. But this one day on a turnaround under the overpass, there was LEO who had someone pulled over. I didn't see him until I did it, but he snapped his neck fast to see who it was. I nearly shit my pants, lol. Gave me a thumbs up though. That was pretty cool.

I only do it every once in a while. If we had tunnels in my area, I guarantee I'd make sure I made a lot of noise.

Same here, most police are guys and have on many occasions complimented my cars and even chatted about theirs, unfortunately I had done something wrong at the time that spurred the meeting and they have a job to do.

Hopefully i won't get stopped with my Corsa extreme's but there are way louder P/U trucks and Harley's that stomp on the gas and are ridiculously loud driving thru town. I try to be mindful when in town and usually just cruise to keep the noise to a minimum.

Yup, like another poster stated ... keep it mellow, have a front plate (on your bumper) - no blackout on them lol, no tint on the rolldowns (state dependent). Common sense stuff really :-)

I was a bit worried when I got my pypes muffler delete kit, but unless you really romp on it its not too bad around town - nice low rumble!

I accidentally gassed it right next to an under covered cop on the high way, obviously he followed pursuit with his lights, so i pulled over to the side rather fast and braked pretty hard, not giving him time to stop behind me as he had sped up as well, so he passed me, we made eye contact and he drove off.

it was a close call. got a radar after that.
