The black wheels really grew on me. I thought the textured dash and gauges look cool.
I really like the 3.73 gears for low end. Suspension work, etc. I think it's a very cool package and I voted with my wallet.

It's a really good cost effective package, you'll spend far more putting it together yourself. Are things like the Brembos and Torsen needed? No, but it won't be long before you regret not having them. Despite the standard brakes being from Brembo, remember they're going to be trying to stop 3700+ lbs from triple digit speeds and/or repeated hammering if you're having fun, they won't hold up.

You can get the 3:55 rear end gears for $395 which is something you may hang on to, if your going to replace most everything else than there isn't much use in spending $2100 for things your not going to use. You'd be better off spending the $2100 that you save by not getting the PP on stuff you know you really want.:D

The 3.73 Tosen Diff and brakes are more than worth it. Plus upsized radiator, sway bars, and K member brace. Depending on the color your getting, the PP wheels look amazing. Especially Magnetic, White, and Ruby Red.

What is the added weight for the PP package?

The only PP option I wish I had was the 3.73 gears. I didn't like the dash or the added gauges where I have AC/Heat vents, and I wanted the rear spoiler and didn't like the black wheels. To each their own I guess.

The Performance package shocks are way better then the stock shocks. Check link below. So unless you plan on replacing every part in the Performance package then it's not worth it. You got to remember this to. That the $2500 you pay for the Performance Package. That includes parts and labor. Now whatever parts you take off your PP car. You can sell to someone who wants to upgrade there regular GT. You'll make almost half your money back just buy selling the PP wheels alone.

after negotiating i was able to get the pp for around 1500.00 more than a base gt. To me that was worth it. You cant buy a big brake kit for that and i was going to get atleast 3.55 gears anyways. I went base gt with pp and havnt looked back. Its just a good looking car that actually performs well.

All Mustangs have a LSD. The difference in the rear end between non PP and PP is the PP has torsen gear style gear set up and the non PP rear uses clutch pack style differential.

OP, you need to drive both before making your decision for sure. I did and decided against the PP for a couple of reasons and money was not one of them as I upgraded to other options. For me, the 3.73's caused the gear shifts to be way too close for my needs and I did not like the '15 black only wheel option. The standard 4 piston brakes are excellent and put my '05 GT's brakes to shame. With 3.31 gears I'm happy with the transmission gear ratio spread and that's just me. Drive both before you commit.

Anyone have any idea what the PP weighs compared to the non-PP? I would think those extra brake pistons and bigger suspension parts and radiator would add a fair amount of weight? Good for the slalom track not so good for the straight line track?

As per the "what things weigh thread" above, the Performance Package weighs around 70lbs more. Add about another 100lbs for the Premium option.
