Are y’all using this with steeda trunk struts? Seems like it woukd take quite a yank to get it closed and not get you hand caught with them, versus a light push on the spoiler to latch the trunk.
Not necessarily. My stock trunk closes easily just pinching latch housing and pulling down. After a few inches, the trunk lid closes itself. But maybe my spoiler is just the perfect weight and I have the mega pinch gene.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I went the diy way as well. Getting the plastic latch cover off was the hardest part. Used a hot poker from our fire to burn and seal the holes in the strap. Added extra nuts instead of removing the stock ones. Went for the super stealthy strap colour and length. I’m happy with it. Works perfectly.

A couple of quick questions if you don't mind.
1 - About how long did you make the strap?
2 - Do you know the size of nuts you used?
3 - Did you have to cut the latch trim piece to accommodate the strap.
4 - Any issue with the trim cap staying on?
TIA

1- Sorry, not sure. Held it up in place once I’d removed the cover, took a punt and cut it. At a guess, 20 to 30cm
2- Sorry, not sure again. If I had to guess, 10mm. Weird on an American car but I don’t have weird inchy nuts and it worked out just fine :like:
3- Nope. Trim piece was loose enough for the strap to fit under, but tight enough to stay firmly in place during use.
4- None at all. The struggle I had getting it off in the first place convinced me it would stay on through use, and this has proven to be correct.

Just made my own center pull down strap out of material laying around, about 10" to start. Drilled holes around 8" apart and used the existing nuts. Might be better than my old method...
