I am going to sound cheap as hell. Is there any trunk struts which will do about the same as the steeda pop a trunk?

The Steeda price is good and I doubt you will find any cheaper; and if you do I doubt they will be the same quality. They work great, easy upgrade.

The trunk opens slowly. No slamming up. Very cool

No issues. I even heard on another thread about leaking. My car needed a bath so I took it through a drive through car wash. Water sprayed at every angle, no leaks

Not impacted, you aren't taking the trunk off, so no need to re-align it, just replacing the struts.
