I changed the oil myself in the GT350 today. I learned some valuable lessons, and unfortunately I got to be “that guy”. I’ll throw this out there as a PSA to anyone who wants to change their own oil; it’s easy, but if you have a “spill proof” drip pan it WILL overflow. My drip pan simply couldn’t drain the oil into itself as fast as the huge drain hole was filling it up so I ended up cleaning 2 quarts of oil off my garage floor. On the plus side, it was easy, the cartridge filter is a breeze, my oil separator is doing its job, and I’m not burning any oil. Don’t be like me guys. :headbonk:

I did my second oil change last Friday. A 5 gal open top drain pan was the ticket. Also changed the oil plug. Much cleaner job than the first time around.

Yeah I think the next time around I’ll be either getting a different drain pan or finding a lift instead of using stands.

Maybe open up the drain hole and the breather hole better on the drain pan?
