Differential Bushing Inserts Install

Hey y’all, for you guys who have installed these diff bushing inserts, what made you install them?

torn bushing? Stop wheel hop?

any reviews from you guys for the red 80 former bushings.

have them on the way.

I saw the cjponypart install video, and it showed them undoing the rear subframe bolts to put the rear ones in, and they didn’t use anything to support the subframe. Can I really do that?

I want to do it as soon as possible, and knock it out as painless as possible. (I only plan to do the rear ones for now to try them out.)

I'd drop the exhaust, keep a jack just in case on the subframe, do the rear first, then the front.

Break loose all bolts, then remove the rears, install bushings, reinstall rear bolts, remove fronts, etc.

I have two ripped bushings and my rear is howling at different speeds. I removed the stop the hop kit because the howl was extremely loud with it installed.

It's not easily accessible and not looking forward to doing this. I have Quick Jacks so at least that helps but doing rear bushings on all 6 of my Mustang's over the years was always the worst.

Any handling problems because of the broken bushing? Any clunks over bumps?

Just budget an entire day to get it done. The CJ video is deceiving. I'd bet a dollar to a donut you need to drop the subframe. Probably drop the exhaust, but at a minimum, loosen it. Those front bolts suck.

Also, make sure you get plenty of grease on the inserts or they will squeak.

I just did the rears with the big bertha bolts. thousands of miles and no additional cruising NVH, no wear on the front bushings, and I'm 100% happy with it.

if i were you i'd just do the rears and see how you like it before screwing with the fronts.

I have a lot of suspension done to my car included K-member so it can be harsh when you have all this. However, no clunks just a noisy rearend at certain speed. Those bushings remove the vibration so if they fail you'll know.

First though, after reading all of the horror stories of people trying to get to the front bushings, I installed the Kelltrac Subframe stud kit. This will allow you to lower the subframe much further down, but still keep it supported. Plus, you won't have any further issues when the OEM bolts want to cross thread in the holes.

I made up a DIY kit of four 10" long studs from sawing up all-thread, so I could drop the cradle a lot. Was the only way to get the fronts in on a 2018+ car.

Until then, I ran just rear insert pucks, plus my aluminum gap sleeves. (I have 6 pairs of these sleeves in stock now - see my sig for more info.)

My bushings were pretty badly torn after 100k miles and tons of events, so we replaced the subframe to get fresh bushings. (there's one supplier of OEM-like replacements we might have been able to swap in, but we found that out later)

I threw in the inserts to try to prolong the life of the fresh new OEM bushings. The subframe wasn't cheap, and I don't want to pay to replace one again.

Side note on that. The stainless-Steel tube I got from the Communist Republic of China worked perfectly. Actually, fit the bolt shank better than the aluminum ones that came in the BMR kit
