Last I checked, this thread was still titled "Die hard Manual guys get in here!".

Not "Die hard Manual guys get in here so the diehard drag racers can call us names!".

Norm
Its just unAmerican to not call someone names that you don't agree with now a days.:D

I'd pick 10-speed auto, but I also remember how lame it is seeing a guy in an auto rev his engine at a stop light, then tap the brake and shift to D to get up and go

Generally speaking, isn't your foot always on the brake at a light? I know mine is.

If you are into that sort of thing, should be pretty easy to rev an auto at the light without looking the fool.

I drive manual-only because not having a 3rd pedal bores the crap outta me. I don't care if any kind of auto shifts/launches faster, or if it responds instantaneously to shift inputs. For me, nothing can replace shifting through an H-pattern or perfectly rev-matching a downshift.

My philosophy is that if you aren't making a living off your lap-times, then it should be all about the experience. If you're anything like me, there is no experience without 3-pedals. I can't imagine my feelings will ever change.

I dont care how much more efficient automatics are, you don't have the control that you have with a manual.

The feeling of hitting the gears perfectly as you slam through them are very rewarding. Or down shifting them perfectly into hard turns. There's just too much to appreciate about having control over the powerband at all times.
