What do you guys normally do for cleaning/polishing up the black panel on the deck lid?

Same as paint correction anywhere else on the car. What's wrong with it?

Just need to remove some microfine scratches in it is all. Wasn’t sure if paint correction works on plastic the same way it does on metal.

PPF from the beginning, rear gets most dust and dirt and that kind of surface suffers the most.

PPF on the decklid is pretty overkill IMO. Ceramic is all you need.

As far as removing scratches. You can polish the decklid. Just start nice and easy using a light polish. I believe it has a clearcoat on it.

This is mine with ceramic. Water spots and smears come off easy with a good topper.

PPF is easier to maintain, since you don’t have to polish it.

With the PpF? Yes…did it two days after I got it 2 years ago.

No scratches and I can wash the car without worrying getting any swirls. My past mustang was all scratched and I never passed it through a car wash. (Neither the Mach)

You don't polish ceramic coat either. That's the whole point.

PPF Is for protection against rock chips. For a declid, it's way over kill and unnecessary.

But we're getting off topic anyway, the question was how to remove scratches.

Wash thoroughly, try and use "boars hair brush" to get in between the lettering MACH 1 . Dry it off and polish, then hit w a wax. I ceramic coated mine afterwards, never looked back.
Anthony

P.S. I learned this w my roush decklid in the past and those plastic letters ROUSH. Never had a problem.
