You have to be careful with compound. I use maguire 1,2 or3,with one being the strongest.then I use #9 to smooth out whatever needs smoothing.usually 3 and 9 work well.

Start with a lighter polish first to see if it works. I got most of the scratches out of mine using Carpro Reflect/Essence level of polish but the heaviest waterspots ended up taking Clearcut.

IF you are speaking of the black panel on the trunk lid...be VERY gentle....scratches very easily. I used Plexus on mine.

Don’t use a rubbing compound on the taillight panel. A light polish and a not very aggressive pad and just go easy and make a few extra passes if needed. For whatever reasons these panels will scratch if you look at them funny. I’ve got a light scratch in mine but I’m not touching it unless it gets worse.

I use optimum hyper polish, an orange lake country polishing pad with the DA dial on 3.

The 2018+ decklid panel is more susceptible to marring than the prior 2015-17 panels.

My EB/HHP has dark gray metallic acsents (wheels, rear spoiler/mirror caps) I wonder what the black panel would look like color matched to the acsent color bypassing the problem with scratches.

on the black decklid panel i had to use an orange ccs pad with meguirs 110 to get the scratches out , 205 on a white pad didnt do enough .

I have used a light polishing compound to take the swirls out before. Make sure you don't hover on just one spot, it will damage it.
