My advice is treat the deal as two separate transactions. Are you getting a good deal buying the 500? Next question, are you getting a fair trade for your current vehicle?
If the answer is no to either question, then pass.
Dealers really like to throw the package deal in your face. They make it look like they are giving you a good deal on the sale, but wind up raping you on the trade.
Sell the trade on the open market, take the cash to the dealer. They kill you on the trade, frankly they have to make money some where and it is usually in the trade. Rarely will a person see their trade on the lot they wholesale the trade move to the next deal. I consigned my GT350 at the dealer he made a couple grand and I got what I needed without taking it the shorts with a trade.
