Yeah, I think I'm going to see if I can find a larger wrench. The small ones just can't break it loose.
Okay and I suggested Sears because they may have more than just one model (like a Lowes/HomeDepot) and you may not have to buy a whole set. I'm going to PM you about some of your mods too, once you get done with all of this I'd love to know your experiences.

Just for reference, my Craftsman that I used is 6 3/4" from tip to tip...

MVP award goes to my Craftsman low profile hole through ratchet and 10 mm socket. Holy hell was that bolt on there from the factory.

Glad you got it! That stuff can get frustrating pretty quick...

Yeah, the video made it seem so easy. Once I broke it loose, it came out easily. Can't wait to finish the install now.

Spend some time getting the reverse pin right before putting the boot on. I had to readjust mine so it didn't nibble on the 1 to 2, and getting that boot back on is a total SOB PITA.

Getting that boot on can be rough on the hands and fingers. When you get to that point, using a little lube helps slide it on the shifter body.

Yep, once I get the stock one out, I will do that.

@BmacIL

Holy crap... This shifter is AMAZING. I don't experience the jerkiness of the stock shifter and this feels so reinforced to the transmission. The weighted knob paired with it makes shifts feel really solid. I pushed it a bit and the shorter throws are outstanding. I went with the race spec, low-profile if anyone is curious.

I didn't have to adjust my shifter either. It was spot on from MGW with the reverse lockout and hard shifts to 1st and 2nd.

Pics attached of course. If anyone is contemplating this upgrade, absolutely do it with a fluid swap. I feel like I'm driving a different Mustang that's how drastic of a change it feels like and the change is for the better.

Thanks guys for helping along the way too.

Exactly how I felt the first time I drove one with the MGW + BG Syncroshift II. Amazing! Also it doesn't feel like you're going to break the shifter when you really shift properly quick.
