I think both the Mustang and Challenger look great compared with the Camaro. The Camaro doesn't look good in my opinion. With the cheap pointed front end the hideous tail lights, I'm surprised it gets as many sales as it does. Chevy should hit the reset button on that ugly design and go back to the drawing board

If Camaro continues its trend the 60th anniversary Mustang could coincide with 10 million Mustang sales.

I think the Camaro looks good the rear is maybe the weakest part.

"Redesign so people can live with it every day (beltline height and shape, rear seat space, trunk opening and volume, vents that blow at the shifter and not your face), lower base price (decontent equivalent Perf Pack out of 1SS)."

BmacIL has a good eye and hits on design keys that work against Camaro6 popularity. When I see a Cam6G in straight on side profile it looks cool. But in walk around the front and rear faces just don't seem to work. The Jack-O-Lantern grill, the toilet seat hood, the high pockets rear end, It is like they were afterthoughts. Mustangs look like the designers did the whole car synchronously. Appearance is important, it makes you like the car. I know the Cams are faster, maybe that is why I don't see many, they are way ahead. Anyway, when I stop I am ever impressed with the Mustang design.

The Camaro is a great looking car. But the buying public isn’t going to pay 45 grand for a car thats an ergonomic nightmare. We’ll also soon see if the buying public is ready to spend 45 grand on a slightly better S550:shrug:If GM would fix the belt line and raise the roof 2 inches on the Camaro. They wouldn’t have to worry about coming in 3rd. Maybe GM will listen to the buying public this time. Instead of 10 know it alls over on Camaro6. That begged for a better performing 5th gen.

They did. Watch A Faster Horse.

Ford sought to expand the customer base of the Mustang. They did that extremely well and didn't upset very many previous owners at all.

Well, I did it. I went in to a Chevy dealer (my buddy was looking at a used car for his daughter) and sat in a Camaro. I cannot believe they designed a car like that. Absolutely terrible visibility. I could not stand owning anything like that. I told the salesman that the visibility was really bad. He said, "no problem, you just buy one of those cushions to sit on". Real nice guy but talk about a lousy product. Is it the bailout with billions of free cash that allowed that thing?

Does anyone know if Ford will release a summary of 2017 sales by color, options, etc?

GM would have to come out with a 7th gen camaro to fix all the design flaws and I bet if the 2019 update tanks there won't be a 7th gen.

I cross-shopped the Camaro this summer. Was aggravated there was no SS2 1LE. Liked the performance and apperance of the 1LE, but some options weren't available, and there were no good incentives available... whereas the Mustang is a beautiful car, and with rebates and local discounts, a Premium PP was just what I wanted and could afford
