So a bit back I had
Drivers door
Drivers fender
Front bumper
Hood
Passenger fender
Repainted. Obviously not perfect as it has some fisheyes and defects but it's a daily driver. Now due to some damage in looking at needing the
Passenger fender
Passenger door
Passenger mirror
Passenger quarter panel
Repainted due to damage. That really only leaves

Drivers quarter
Drivers mirror
Rear bumper
Trunk
Roof.
Minor dents in roof and trunk aswell as door dings all around the car I haven't bothered getting removed. Slight rust where paint is chipping on drivers quarter where it needs the bumper but would it be easier to leave the scratches in the other panels and maybe touchup pen or should I look at getting it repainted? Car is a money pit as is
Bought it 2 years ago at 52k miles for 27.5 and it needs some rust repair underneath but it's at 63k now and I'm probably 10k deep in it between cosmetics, tune, wheels, one piece driveshaft, fluids etc. Not sure it's worth putting more money in because I'd love to have the paint in better condition but I know that the dents will bother me and if it gets scratched again it'll bother me and I'm also kinda broke but I could swing it if I needed to. Is it worth it? I can update later with some photos of the panels that ARE NOT BEING REPAINTED yet. Also have some corrosion in the water channels on The roof/Seam

how about you do a deal with your painter
tell them you can help prepare it for full respray by rubbing it back
it will take some work but also save you money get them to knock the dents out
just a thought

Hello; The car being a daily and you being kind of broke is a situation I have been in. I would fix the corrosion areas and leave the repaint for times of more funds.
There is a comfort having a sound mechanical ride which has some cosmetic flaws. No longer have to worry over new rock chips or door dings.
Had a friend who bought a dream car back in 1989/90. Was a BMW 3 series. He fretted over the slightest scratch. Parked at the furthest away spots. He eventually bought a used beater car and rarely drove the Bimmer. He eventually sold it and got a Honda Civic. He was still too anal about the cosmetics but to a much less degree.

Keep it mechanically good and treat corrosion. Then make it sharp when extra money comes along.

Depending on the year, your roof seam corrosion might still be covered by the paint & corrosion warranty. It’s a somewhat known issue so if you’re still under paint & corrosion, that will get fixed under warranty. The rest is up to you. If $$ is tight, I wouldn’t worry about it. Just make it look the best you can with a detail & wax.
