Do you have your car serviced where you bought it? Do you feel like your vehicle receives better care there? Or.... It doesn't really matter:shrug:

I purchased my car at a dealer that's about 41 miles away. It's not the closest Ford dealer to my home by a long shot: there's a dealer about 4 miles from my house.

When I took my car to my local dealer to inquire about the brake TSB, I got that not so fresh feeling. The SA asked if I purchased the car there, and then proceeded to act like he was doing me a favor by scheduling the repair work. :paddle::paddle:

Guess I'll be driving 41 miles for service :)

i would, but the place i got mine at is 2 hours away from me. And i think it helps when dealing with warranty issues, etc.

Build the relationship with the service department, not the sales staff. If you're not cool with service, then take it somewhere else. No point in handing the keys to someone you don't trust to take care of your property. Some members around here know about that...

I bought my car at a dealer 30 some miles away only since it was ordered there butI've been using my local dealer for years. I'm friends with the service advisor and he hooks me up. Excellent service

nope. The dealer where I get my cars serviced is closer, and they have a nice service department. Problem is, the last 5 fords I have bought over 10 years or so, they only had 1 in stock i wanted. Including this mustang.

Service is where most dealerships make their money. Thats why they throw in loaner cars and oil changes with deals to keep you there.

I buy my cars at one dealer and get them serviced at another. The dealer I buy my cars from is better for the sales side and the other dealer is better from the service side (at least for me they are better). I don't see a conflict.

If you take your car to a dealer for work and they give you a hard time or you don't like them in any way, I would take it somewhere else. They are making money from you. If they are going to take your money you should expect them to treat you well.

Dealerships make most of their profit in the service department. They should be happy with your business.

i find that service at the dealer you bought it from is better than ones closer to home...if you can afford the wait and drive then yes.

Whenever I bought my cars I always made sure I got a a good deal but also let the sales person know i appreciate their time. Sometimes you make some friends along the way but ultimately you want a champion on your side if you have to take it in for work on the service side. Get good with the service manager too. I burnt through 3 dealers locally who turned a blind eye to me before realizing that I should have drove the 70 miles to the original dealer and get it done!

If the buying experience is a good one, then I'll use the service department as well. If/when I have a bad experience with service, I'll look elsewhere. But based on a good purchasing experience, the service gets the benefit of the doubt. But w/ that said, I have 4 dealers within a 20 mile radius of me.

Dealership loyalty is like a good marriage...you trust your spouse to have your best interests at heart and you have a good marriage. Or like a bad dealership/marriage they F''' You over and take your money. Trust your spouse/dealership until you can't! Sorry, but that's the way the world turns now...and the Ford Motor Company doesn't properly police their affiliated dealers. Please never get burned but once, there are dealers that you can marry out there. Lol.

I was giving the dealership i bought my car from my business, but after the drama with my dashboard replacement, no more. 4 years of building a good relationship with them went out the window. Ill be going elsewhere to get it serviced.

Been getting my car serviced every 5k miles like clockwork from the same dealership for almost 7 years. They are the closest to me as well which I just consider a bonus. A few guys in the service department know me/know my car so I feel comfortable with them.

Having said that, I have no trouble changing dealers if they ever try something fishy in either sales or service departments. My loyalty only goes so far.
