... I am older and more responsible ... I haven't even spun the tires yet ... hopefully, no one hits me ... I don't plan on bombing canyons like I used to ... I am going to baby this car.
Famous last words. ;)

But I'm with you. I tell myself that I will own mine for 10 years and baby it, too.

However, "baby my car" and "400+ HP" should not be used to describe the same vehicle.

At this point, the contract is signed.. I own the vehicle. Unless they agree to cancel the contract (highly unlikely) I am stuck with it. I have purchased vehicles before. Ideally you pit the dealers against eachother but I was in the market for a very specific car and it was the only one around in at least 200 miles radius. They knew it too, they threw that out while we were negotiating. All in all, I feel I got a very good price. Just sucks I had to go. As I mentioned above, time frame for 0% financing only had two days left, I had no vehicle and this was the only car that fit my requirements.. bone stock base GT manual.

Edit: I did buy a 2015. The 2016s weren't out yet and the special financing also wasn't available. This has been ongoing for about 2 months now.
Fair enough. I went through a similar thing with Redondo Beach.. Wanted the V6 in Guard... There were none in state. Guy was going to drive it from Phoenix.. Could not get a deal on it because of this. I'm thankful the deal fell through (Did not have California emissions).. After that I pitted them against each other, settled on black and saved thousands. But some dealers have no shame in straight up lying.

And I'm weak too, easy to get talked into BS once I'm there... That's why email was so good for me, way easier to negotiate through it. These guys skillset is in negotiating and making you think they're your friend.

Just posting an update:

I emailed the Sales Manager who has been screwing me around during the entire process, asked him for a copy of the paid invoice and confirmation on when they would install the new exhaust and that he had 2 days to get back to me before taking legal action. He blew me off and never responded, I waited 4 days just to give him one more chance, still nothing so I served him with a demand letter. Just got an email from the actual GM over at the dealership this morning, they are honoring my demand letter and will pay out for all of this chaos I went through. Very happy this is finally over. (at least hopefully it is!) Just for the record, I didn't ask for a crazy amount of money. I charged them for my lost wages, my labor cost for fixing the original exhaust leak, legal costs, etc. I only requested enough to indemnify myself.

Before I even read your first sentence I said to myself "I wonder if he's writing about Sunrise?" They are a bunch of d-bags.

What sucks is the assholes are Costco plan certified dealers.

Would be nice if they lost that honor.

While negotiating with them one of the sales guys made a mention that Simi Valley Ford wasn't allowed to get the special financing from Ford Motor Credit due to some bad business practices. No idea if that was true or not, but I'm hoping in all the effort I made for someone at Ford see my story, the dealership is hit with some kind of penalty.

I really wonder how many people got completely screwed by these guys and the customer doesn't even know because these guys come across as genuine and trusting.

I'm just glad this is finally resolved. The car is so much fun.
