I would estimate a 20% increase in mpg. Somewhere near a 250lb mass increase. This is based on comparing the US CMax hybrid vs the UK non-hybrid CMax. Hopefully Ford can engineer out some weight from the current hybrid componets. What is interesting is what will they do for the transmission...
It shouldn't, and it has pissed me off big time when I had two different dealers tell me to bring it where I bought it. Finally took going to a 3rd dealer (where I didn't buy it from) to get the problem fixed.
It might help and i was just a bit curious. Apparently with Ford for warranty...
If the OEM coil spring has 2.5 active coils and the wire diameter is 0.2" than the spring rate @ 2.2" free length is 335 Lb/in if they are using Music Wire ASTM A228, it is 329 Lb/in if Carbon Valve A230 wire.
Seems like the ~150 Lb force is close. Not knowing the fully compressed length...
Yes. Way back on post #570. :D

I have actually performed the test before we sent it off for official testing. As a tuner we replaced cat back, and than had the system tested. Possible gray zone though. We had people request the cert. since the police gave them a hard time. Now there is the law in CA that you can not...
I would not say they are lying to the EPA. They made a change to the design and carried it across different models. Now it seems like due diligence wasn't done, whether it was lack of engineering testing, driven by costing (ignoring engineering :) ), or believing the supplier on the operation...
I believe the OEM get cafe credits for using climate controlled seats bc the suggestion was people wouldn't be running the AC to cool down, so less gasoline being burned.... Funny that some of the statements used suggests that the seat coolers were designed to use HVAC cooling to help cool the...
I've been lurking on this post since the beginning, this is really disappointing. I was really happy that the cooled seats were being offered with this new gen.
The plan earlier, before this problem cropped up, was ordering around this time I was just waiting for some financial things to...
