Is our DCT transmission essentially the same as used in the C8? I am wondering because I noticed the Corvette C8 filter is called to be changed at 7500 miles (compared to our 20k miles). Plus, it looks as if GM has been experiencing some issues with theirs while ours appear to be much less problematic.

Just wondering....

From what I understand they are close but not the same.
They have another gear for one.
They are both made by Tremec.
Regretfully that’s all I got for you.
I’m sure others will chime in with much more info.

From what I understand the Corvette C8 DCT is a transaxle and the differential shares the same oil.

“The TREMEC-designed limited slip differentials feature spiral bevel designs that allow the entire transaxle to use a single fluid, allowing mass savings from a single oil cooler, pump, oil sump and filtration system.”

I understand they are the same internals. They are both TR-9080. Somewhere is an announcement that they are building three versions: 7speed for the GT500, 8 speed for the C8, and an all wheel drive version. Presume this latter version is for the new Raptor-R.

No way is a dct going into the raptor. At least I hope not.

I like to disassemble things.
You could be right I just assumed they would beef up the ten speed. I don’t think a dct in a heavy pickup would be a good idea but who knows.
I going to have to agree with you. The cost of the DCT would seem prohibitive for using it off road when a beefed 10 speed might be better suited. Any kind of crawling is not going to get along with the DCT clutches at all. Then again, it's 2021. Everything is up in the air.

Maybe Ford knows most of them will be mall crawling, not rock crawling

Close, ours is the TR-9070, hence 7 vs 8 gears

Watch how many start to bail for the C8.

Could have sworn our TR-9070 also had a higher torque capacity than the 9080.
