Avoid the Viofo A229 Pro 4k front and 2k rear with your life. Mine continuously after a night of being parked will shut off and just start flashing the red light on the far left. No idea why, tried multiple online solutions, wiping the card, getting a new different sized card (yes the proper type), and no dice. Any suggestions are welcome, it is hard wired in and was working fine for the first three months.

@Prodigal hope you see this in time to cancel your order
Viofo A129 duo in two cars for some years, and the new A229 3-cam in my Mustang. All quite reliable.

A229 can take up to 512GB card, but it has to be V30 rating. One card failed after about 3 months. The windshield cam can get quite hot. I think the cam survives but not always the SD card.

I also use the HK4 hardwire kit for a superior parking mode performance. I set the cam for low bitrate parking recording and it never shuts off.

It is much easier to manually shut off the A229 when in the home garage than was the A129.

OP, get the A229, HK4, and polaroid filters. Thank me later. (You can also search "Viofo" under my username for more posts.)

I have noticed that one of my center air vents is always set so that the camera is cooled by accident.

I have the BlackVue 970 2-ch in my Shelby and recently picked up the Viofo A229 for my EB vert. I’m going to start with the rear cam mounted to my windshield to see if it’s any good at seeing out the rear glass. If it doesn’t perform well I may pick up the telephoto cam and try that. I don’t want to mess with wiring up an external cam just yet.

Did you get their polaroid filters? Don't judge the images without them.

VIOFO A229 pro. Is 4k and has front and rear cam. Works and looks better than the garmin ones I’ve been running in other vehicles

I have Viofo A139 Pro and my observations are:

1) It has parking mode recording, which can be triggered either by a recorded motion (not really usable in public places) or a shock. However the shock will start the recording so you may miss easily the actual cause.

2) It can also record continuously in parking mode (with some battery saving mode i.e. low FPS), the picture is not that bad, but you get everything recorded and probably drain your battery (or hit the voltage limit) in several hours. So for some serious usage you probably would need an auxiliary power source.

3) If you think about turning the parking recording only in public places (and have it off at home) then you will soon realize (at least on A139 Pro) that turning the parking mode recording on or off becomes inconvenient pretty fast.

4) The easiest "download" is having two SD cards and swap them. You can download the content, but good luck at downloading 256 GB of videos to phone over wifi.
I have a Sd card reader for phone and keep it in the glovebox.

Also I have 3 minute clips. So it’s easier to download smaller files.

And I keep a spare card in the glove box of both cars in case something major happens and I don't want to risk overwriting until I can review.

Yes.

Add the CPL300 filter for the rear cam.

The bluetooth remote control is really not needed if you mount the front cam in a position that is easy to reach. I am tall, and so I mounted mine to the right of the center stuff (for my own better visibility). If you mount on the driver side of the windshield you really don't need this control.

Buy your uSD cards elsewhere, and get 2 512gb cards. I am trying the Sandisk High Endurance card right now, for around $50.

@GTP nailed it!
No need for remote, buy a Samsung or Sandisk SD card, would suggest 256GB for longer life (write cicles kill these cards, bigger is better for lasting longer)
e.g. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P4HBRMV/ SDSQQNR-256G High Endurance Micro SDXC Class 10 UHS-I U3 V30 (this is in my A229 PRO)
