He bought tweeter because he could and he believes in our freedom of speech!
Unless you criticize him or his companies. Then he bans you. His company so he can do what wants but let’s not pretend it’s vastly different than it used to be. Just someone else with a different viewpoint controlling the narrative now.

I personally don’t use Twitter, never have and hopefully never will. I know a lot of people find it useful, I just don’t.

It’s ugly and it’s a vehicle. I don’t need vehicles to be loaded to the gills with distracting tech that isn’t really necessary. Guess that’s my age showing a bit.
Do what I do. If I don't like a movie, TV show, YouTube, etc. I don't watch. If I don't like how another vehicle looks, PIT it.

Only real victims are PPF and wrap installers. There is NO CyberTruck owner who can't do a perfect DIY install in their sleep.

It is VASTLY more freedom of speech than it was! They used to completely shut down views of the right! Criticizing him or his company and getting it deleted is different than deleting because it went against their narrative.

Different reasons for banning, yes. But if it’s truly free speech then the criticism of him and his companies should also be allowed.

Like I said, I don’t use it and don’t intend upon using it in the future. If he’s allowing more viewpoints to be shared, that’s great. I’m all for it as long as the conversations remain somewhat civil (I know, kind of a pipe dream with the internet LOL). If it gets to the point where real threats are being made (from any side), that’s where someone does need to step in IMO. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences when a line is crossed (again, pertains to all viewpoints, not singling one particular viewpoint out here).

Just my thoughts. I try to keep a level head about a lot of this stuff as much as I can. Back to that dumpster of a vehicle known as CyberTruck 🤣

I don't disagree that they shouldn't erase criticisms. Until he bought it a changed direction, the right was HUGELY and disproportionately censored!

Unfortunately that isn't exclusive to Tesla; It's pervasive on nearly all new cars. Look at the S650 where you have to touch a screen just to change the temperature or adjust the fan speed.

Bolded section is spot on. 99% of keyboard warriors would never say the stuff they do if you were talking to them over a beer. And it would be a way more fun conversation over a beer anyways.

I routinely rent electric cars when I travel out of town for work. They are very nice. Interiors great, technology is great. But they are absolutely soulless. Hit start and music plays. Wtf, I want to feel the rumble of cylinders going, of exhaust coming out. Or something coming to life. Especially these rube Goldberg devices we call ice cars.

Agreed on the conversation stuff. I won’t get on my soapbox anymore about that, there’s other venues for that.

Also agree on the EV’s lacking a soul. I’m not against them, to me they just feel like an iPhone (or Samsung if you’re an Android fan) on wheels. At some point (and we may already be there), there’s so much tech and crap in the car that it’s a huge distraction. And I don’t trust the self driving car tech, heck the lane keep assist in some cars has caused near accidents because it won’t let you change a lane (personally happened to me in my parents Caddy once).

Yeah ICE cars have a lot of tech in them too, but for the most part the tech won’t leave you stranded because you still have a motor to help you limp along if needed. And then there’s the whole infrastructure problem with EV and charging but that’s a horse that’s been beat to death. And them catching on fire.

Not to say a lot of those things can’t be solved but it has a long way to go IMO. At least before I trust it.

Tesla won’t take one as a trade. They don’t even want them back lol.

he believes in *HIS* freedom of speech. Sometimes that overlaps with "ours" but despite the sea change, there's still quite a bit of "selective enforcement" hanging around undermining his pronouncements and "professed" ethos.

Like anyone in power quickly realizes, it's HARD not to take that power and put your boot heel on people you disagree with. Even though you *said* you wanted "free speech". If you only allow viewpoints that you like/tolerate, it's not "free speech".
