If the 3.5 ecoboost tops the list it's definitely BS. But yes the coyote is stout. NA I'd expect high mileage.
Im not a v6 ecoboost expert but will say the ecoboosts in general seem to be fairly good motors, but they need very often oil changes otherwise will have issues

Any turbo car will need turbos every 100k-150k miles, i know the 4cyl ecoboosts are very strong for what they are, but people do stuff like 10k mile oil changes, put in 87 gas, drive it hard cold, etc which will cause issues for any engine let alone an ecoboost

Nothing will beat a v8 for reliability though

The 3.5 is great for anyone who doesn't drive hard. I know lots of guys who have high mileage ecos that are running strong but everyone I know with a lead foot has had issues. If an engine can take abuse I wouldn't call it reliable. The coyote can be beaten like a red headed step child and still go 100k + with nothing more than oil changes. Shit you can run a na honda engine with no oil and probably still get 100k out of it. I wouldn't trust most of the new small turbo engines to do that though.

My 1st gen ran like a champ to 130K miles. Honestly the whole car was in excellent shape, I am sure if the new owner maintained it like I did he will get 300K out of it easy. I have no doubt these coyotes in NA form are super reliable. People here boost the crap out of them and they hold up fine, that should already prove the longevity.

Well... I'm a 2017 @ 111,000 miles mostly HW driving for work. I have never been on a track. I might add 1/4 of a quart of oil, if needed, idk every few months or once in between changes. I'm currently about to do a 'refresh' with opg/cs, cams, springs, chains vct etc and will throw 10-11 lbs of boost at it probably within 6 months. I doubt i'll have any issues at all.
Basically what i did with about 100k miles early this year. Too early to know for sure but...So far so good. 👍

2 different engine builders in the area thought i was ridiculous for wanting to rebuild the engine before boost and talked me out of it. Only time will tell there, too.

Looking at the list of engines on that site, it does seem credible.

With meticulous care and plenty of oil changes, those big NA V8 engines on the list are believable.
Most of the problems people had is they didn't change the oil regularly or the actual car turned into an absolute rust bucket and the engine went to the junk yard well before its time.
From personal experience in my 44+ years as a Master Tech, I can say that for certain the 300 CID inline 6 was a bulletproof workhorse, as was the monster 460 CID iron block V8. The 351W was my preferred engine over the 351C (unless it was the 4V 4bolt main model) as it was more compact and easier to work on like the 302W. Hopefully the Coyote with it's more complex valve train and such will have similar longevity.

I blame the tune, detonation failures are rarely the fault of the engine
Well it’s a carb legal ford performance tune
As much a factory tune that you can get

It's not *the* factory tune though. The borderline timing changes removes some of the safety margin from high temperatures, especially on 91 octane. 91 is actually the minimum octane for that tune, it's really happiest on 93. It's like doing a track day on the stock tune on 87 octane. It's fine until it's not.

Just my opinion though.

Don’t disagree with you. It’s why im using boostane as a precaution

What power pack level was it? I uninstalled pp2 as it was detonating while street driving. Extended detonation will cause engine issues.

Pp2. I know that some people have issues with it and some don’t

WAIT... does this piston shape tell that coyote is an interference safe engine? I mean money shift is not feasible?

I mean - valve shaped protrusions are clearly visible. I do not suggest anyone try to money shift, but money shift protected engine is always more that one with no protection. Of course someone might just say those protrusions are not enough.
