Hello; The antibody test before deciding on a vaccine is the part I have the least confidence about. I do not know enough about the tests. Much would depend on which side of the test false results would happen. If it was false negatives such would not make much difference as a person would think they had not yet been infected and may want to chance the vaccine.
A false positive on the other hand could give the person a false idea they had been infected and had an immune response. This could be bad for an older person or someone with the more at risk comorbidities. I understand there are a number of different antibody tests so would want to know which have proven to be the more accurate. Of the three ideas this one may be the lesser in terms of working for a positive outcome.
The one dose idea and the survivor idea are the stronger of the three ideas. Picture this; At some point in a country half the people will have been injected with two vaccine shots. At that very same point in time the entire country could have had one injection.
Since this is a world wide pandemic and the story is the virus is all around, then there ought tor be some number of cases where a person had only one shot and before the second shot became infected with the virus the vaccine is for. Those cases can be used as a way to test the idea of a one shot practice.
If all or most of the post one shot infections are similar in nature to cases of the non vaccinated, then the one shot idea is in question.
If all or most of the post one shot infections are asymptomatic or very mild then the one shot idea can have merit.
It was a month between the first and second shot. That month ought to have exposed some to the infection. By this time there should be some solid evidence one way or another.
There is reported evidence about the reinfection of those who have survived the infection. The sources I have read tell a positive story. The reinfections are rare and when they happen are reported to be mild. I have a couple of theories about this and may write about them later if needed. Of the three ideas the survivors can skip the vaccine is likely the stronger.
