Pretty simple, only the n95 masks does anything. Cloth mask is wishful thinking especially when half the people wearing them don't even put them over their nose.

Flu cases are down because every death is being classified as COVID even if that wasn't the contributing factor in that person's death.

And that's not even mentioning the wildly inaccurate test results for COVID.
If you look at my post (#145) I was referring to the FLU not covid.

And how do you know they weren't wearing masks and social distancing while visiting with their families?

Lol, that's rich. I'm a veteran so I'm automatically correct and don't question me. Like I said, you're a fool. Have a good one

For the rational people partaking in this thread, it’s worth considering that your resistance may be futile. Some ideas are impenetrable.

The virus is smaller than what the mask can capture.

I see about 99.9% mask compliance but we still are having record numbers of Covid cases, so that tells me the mask doesn't work.
"Virus is smaller than what the mask can capture."

Its obvious you have no idea what you are talking about.

Where do you see 99.9% mask compliance? If there was 99.9% mask compliance in the beginning then we wouldn't be seeing the record numbers. The mask rules didn't start to really be enforced until after there were record numbers and even then the mask rules are still fuzzy depending on the state.
Good logic

Mask wearing isn't the only recommendation, additionally there is social distancing and keeping your hands clean.

Also, this post is about the COVID vaccinations not about mask wearing. Good job brining in your useless opinion that nobody asked for in an effort to de-rail the thread. Last time I checked the title said Covid Shots, not Covid Masks. Seems you might not be able to notice the difference

Its obvious that they weren't otherwise there wouldn't be an increase in cases. That is the point of scientific extermination, they are situations that can be replicated. And the experiments show that wearing masks and social distancing prevents COVID.

Freedom, the first-born of Science. - Thomas Jefferson

So I guess if wearing a mask due to science is an infringement upon freedom, then uhh what about freedom?? 🤔 I mean freedom is the result of science.

Seems like a conundrum. When you abandon science, you abandon freedom as well. If we are going by Thomas Jefferson since you hold him in such high regard.

In it’s simplest form, people will continue to contract the virus for as long as a large enough group refuse to listen to scientists (Or alternatively, take their “Scientific” cues from really shitty studies).

The question that should be asked is this:

By what miracle exactly have we here in Victoria, Australia (and Australia/other countries more broadly) been able to quench the number of daily cases, each and every time they escalate?
It’s not masks, it’s not hand washing, it’s not social distancing, it’s not lockdown. It’s ALL of them being adhered to by >90% of the population when it‘s required.
This isn’t a political issue, as much as some people seem to want it to be.
It’s an issue of evidence and the science that is based on that evidence.
I recently saw some results from a poll conducted across America, the question being with regard to the likelihood of people wearing masks in public (I’m paraphrasing somewhat).
In most states/regions, the answer was “likely” or somewhat likely” at roughly 50%.
It‘s like some sort of self-fulfilling prophecy. Half the people don’t wear a mask and then whinge that “masks don’t work” or worse yet, a belief that it isn’t an airborne virus to begin with.....SMH.
It couldn’t be more stupid.
Best of luck with it you guys.
Anyways, here’s how it looks over here.
Science FTW.

Wow Mr RPDBlueMoon, pretty thin skinned aren't you?

Everytime I'm in public I see 99.9% of people wearing masks. I go out daily.

Yep, I know nothing except when they "first" reported the size of the virus it was said to be .1 micron in size. The N95 mask only filters down to .3 micron. That cloth bandana is like truing to filter cigarette smoke with a window screen.

Vaccine, I know 6 people who have got it and all of them ended up sick as a dog for a few days. Not me.

Why are you talking about N95 masks?
Please tells us more about how a mask that is DESIGNED TO ALLOW EASY EGRESS OF THE WEARERS BREATH, is supposed to help stop the spread of a virus...
It‘s as if you’ve missed the whole point of the exercise somehow.
In fact, based on your response, it seem that there’s some gross misunderstandings happening on your part.

Someone brought up the reason the "flu" deaths were down was due to mask wearing. Someone else said the masks don't stop viruses, someone else asked for that to be clarified.

Masks don't stop the spread of Covid or the flu.

Who is suggesting that they “stop” the spread?
Perhaps you could try “Masks HELP to reduce the amount of airborne virus particulate along with the radius of the particulate spread, thereby reducing the likelihood of someone touching a surface that is infected”..
Not very scientific, but it’s a near enough approximation to what masks AIM to achieve and seem to actually achieve.
Helmets don’t stop brain injury from occurring, yet here we are, with plenty of evidence to suggest that it’s worth wearing one anyway.

If they are working why are there almost daily record numbers of new cases?

Oh wait, I do not hear as much Covid reporting anymore. Wonder why?

Everyone that I’ve known that’s had it says it wasn’t a big deal. A few days of flu like symptoms to be off of work for 2 weeks. Mind you the several people I speak of was 50 or under with no pre-existing conditions. I’m 54 and have always been healthy as a horse. So I’m in no hurry to take the shot. If work required it. I’ll take it. But I’m not actively seeking it out.
