I put my passenger seat on 1 and the bottom was not cool at all, but the seat back where the fan was a lot hotter than the rest of the car.

Dealer ordered two new motors for mine today so it will be well documented of me having the issue

Sorry to say that probably will not make any difference. If it was me, I wouldn't even let them put the new motors in because there will be a chance for them to mess something else on for no gain in the cooling.

I am surprised this is not a tsb yet... I have the same problem, been wondering why my butt was cool and my back feels like the seat heater is on.

Its not a TSB yet because Ford hasn't figured out the S in TSB. With no fix they can't really fix the problem. We just have to hope that the hints being dropped that they are aware of the issue and working on it are correct. Again look to the F150 community. Any TSB will be issued there first and then we have to hope we are attached onto it. Corporations are slow when it comes to fixing design problems unfortunately. :(

We came home from a trip in the north Georgia mountains near Hiawassee last night. The outside temp was about 70 degrees. As we traveled south, the bottom cooling was not doing very much after about 2 hours of driving.....of course, the back never cooled..only got hotter and hotter.

But, again, Ford says this does not happen.

Mine doesn't work either. It's either not good, or its hot. My '13 FX4 cooled seats work pretty good and my wife's '15 expedition works amazingly well.

With the vents I made it seems to work pretty well, under one condition: The car hasn't been sitting in the sun. Once the seat gets hot from the sun forget it. The exhaust can't be removed fast enough to let the unit cool down.

What type of vents did you make and any pics? Thanks.

I can't get pics of it but basically I took 1 inch plastic tubes and ran one up the left side to the fan on the unit and the other down the right side from the exhaust out of the seat. The intake tube sticks out of the bottom about half an inch and the exhaust is out the corner about the same.

I'll be disconnecting the back motor this weekend. It will work better by NOT working at all.

There was talk early on in this thread about just disconnecting the back motors, but for some reason it wasn't as simple as it sounded. Don't recall exactly, but if the one motor is disconnected, the control unit might not make the others work either. You'll have to go back and read the first part of this thread to verify. Just a heads up so you don't possibly waste your time.

This is from a member of the F150 forum from yesterday. Remember this is nothing more than word of mouth but it could mean some progress (or not).

Following up,from last week: the sales mgr called me back this morning to say he spoke with an engineer. The engineer was aware of the issue, and said there is a new snorkel in the works. No time frame from the sales mgr, but i didn't ask. The sales mgr did mention the engineer said this was an issue that had been escalated recently. Perhaps the forum got the word out and enough people realized there was an issue?

"The engineer was aware of the issue, and said there is a new snorkel in the works."

No surprise on Ford's apparent fix approach. Probably thanks to this thread to some degree and the experiments done by members here.
