^^^ Dang! I wouldn't get another dash installed until Ford gets dashes that don't bubble. You have 3 years/36K to do it, and based on your history they should give you a lifetime dash warranty !!

As far as the seat cooling ... anyone who brings their car in for diagnostics on the cooling function, make sure to tell the dealer that they have to monitor them 30 minutes AFTER they have been turned on the high setting. Otherwise, the back cooler may look to operate normal if it's in the first 15 minutes of operation.

Anyone here who has access to an IR camera or thermometer and has access to a competitor product (or even a Fusion) please run a comparison.

Ive seen this seat disassembled and the seat bottom has a cooling mat with gel inside in addition to the fan, but the seatback has no such thing - just fans.
(forgive me if I am repeating what was already said)

Seems like a flawed design. Back being sweaty is he biggest reason warranting cooled seats so this is a pretty bad problem.

Most definitely bringing it to the dealer, just waiting for the time. If the dealer pulls crap, I will keep bringing it back and escalating the problem so that it is on Ford's radar

See that's another issue I have though, I don't have time to go back and forth and let my car sit at a dealer....

Just got mine back from the dealer. Here's our conversation...."Cooled seats, oh yeah, only the bottom is supposed to cool, not the back. (me) Are you sure about that? He asks another service writer next to him, and he confirms the same thing. My other problem, the vibration of the car, they balanced the tires. Car was vibrating all the way home! Not only a waste of time, but I had to pay for a rental. Ill be filing my complaint now with BBB and Ford.

Thanks Deysha,
I just dropped off my car this morning, and PM'd you the details.
You’re welcome, MaxInTx. I sent you a PM.

I too am also have an issue with my cooled seats, heck, my seat bottoms don't even cool well. Best way to describe it is that it's similar to an asthmatic breathing through a straw. And honestly I leased my mustang for 2 years... I have a limited time with my car and it's summer and hot about to be cold and snowy within a few months and this "feature" is built into the price of the car... That's why it made me regret getting premium... Too much junk on the car is experiencing issues, had I not bought premium it wouldnt bother me because there wouldn't be anything there to break... So what is going to be done about lease customers??...
Make an appointment to get your concerns checked out at your Ford Dealer, willmkent. Then, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number. I’ll loop in the customer service manager for your area.

What exactly does this even mean Deysha?
This helps your dealer, the CSM, and yourself work together to address your concerns, Rypkr.

I got mine back today from having another dash installed.....and the replacement also has leather bubbling.......looks like it is going back for the 3rd replacement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for seat back cooing......I get the same old "No problem found" --- BECAUSE THEY WON'T SIT IN THE SEAT IN THE HEAT LONG ENOUGH TO FEEL IT HEATING UP!!!!!!!! They simply connect their diagnostic tool and it reads the element in the seat........which means absolutely zip in comparison to what the skin is feeling on the seat.

I do need this escalated!!!! Please!!!!
You already have a case, lwilliams. Be sure to address this with your CSM as soon as possible.

Deysha

The service advisors don't know anything and are acting as a blocker to getting cars in for free. Tell them to check with technician and refer to the exploded diagram of the seat. If it isn't supposed to cool, why does the seat back have a separate peltier and duct? I never listen to the service advisors. I quickly ask for them to get a technician or I ask to speak to the service manager. You could also print the diagram and bring it with you.

^^^ We all know the backs are supposed to cool because of the tests done here by members on their own car and summarized in this very thread. IMO, it's sad then the service department in some dealers think the backs are supposed to only heat, or are only supposed to blow air and not cool.

Ford needs to educate the dealership service departments, service writers and techs with a service bulletin to inform them of what's going on. By now you would think Ford would be tired of hearing of this complaint and get the word out to all dealerships that a fix is in work.

Yes, search back in this thread back about 5~8 pages or so. Droid_Junky rigged up a duct that made the unit suck air from below the seat back, and that also prevented it from sucking hot air inside the seat.

I know it sucks to take the time out but the more people complain about this VERY legitimate problem, the more pressure on Ford to actually fix it or worst case scenario improve it on a future model. Its not asking much of anyone to do this at some point before 36k miles

The backrest consists of leather/cushion, spring, under that a fan, and a big plastic thing with holes in front of the fan. Nothing else in the seatback.

Below are pics of the passenger seat BOTTOM:

Looking from behind the seat -

(on top of this is the foam cushion and leather wrap)

Possible what you are calling a gel pad, is the occupant detection sensor for the pass. airbag.

I know in the past the sensors have been a "bladder" type with a pressure sensor to detect if someone is sitting there.
