Is the motorcraft the only coolant use?

Is there any at the parts stores that will work?

Changing the T-stat and res so I figured it would be a good idea to have some on hand.

Thanks
Steven

You must drain and FULLY flush out the orange stuff to use green.... But Green is fine.
I am running it on my 2015 GT with Hellion TT's.

Sounds like they're using something similar to VW's G12/G13.

You cannot mix that stuff with regular coolant, unless you want to sludge up your entire engine.

You're in Houston, just top off whatever you lose while doing the swap with distilled water + the coolant additive of your choice.

That's interesting.
I won't be using that stuff. I've GMs for over 20 years and Dexcool sucks. It's fine if you keep it flushed but it doesn't last long.

Thanks guys. I will use the motorcraft

For reference, when I did mine I lost about 3/4 of a gallon. I topped mine off with Distilled water. I'll check the freezing point sometime this summer and adjust accordingly if needed.

Buy the right coolant from the dealer. That's what I did when I installed my 170 t-stat

Yeah, I didn't think about that.
It doesn't get that cold down here, even though we did get snow twice this past winter.
I'm about 100% sure I won't be driving my mustang in anything below 32* anyways. lol

^^^^^That's the thing to do. Base GT's have 13.6 qts, and PP cars have 15.2, so adding a gallon of distilled won't even get you to 75/25 which is preferred hot weather mix.

Water is much better at heat dissipation then coolant so it should benefit you nicely.
