I opened the radiator drain valve, loosened cap, moved degas bottle so one line is totally disconnected, disconnected upper radiator hose, and lower radiator hose from engine side, only got about a gallon in my bucket???

i think i saw capacity was like 3.1gal for a PP1 GT, so there should be way more in my bucket.
Did a search, they said to raise it high enough to drain radiator, it's at a decent angle but not super tilted.
anyone got any ideas to get the rest? degas bottle was at the normal line when i pulled it so i don't think it was empty and never overheated once even on track

Airlift coolant extractor/refill kit. You won’t get 100% of the coolant out, (maybe 80%), but you can extract, refill and extract a couple more times to get all old coolant out.

I bought this kit here, this should do the job then no? It's it's a pressure/fill and test system.
will this work or do i need to buy the airlift brand specifically

That looks to be the same thing as an Airlift with plenty of fittings and adapters. It should get the job done nicely.

Ok i just pushed some air through it but still only so much coolant came out. I'll get some distilled water and a clean bucket and flush it out. Thanks man

It's because of the angle you have the car at. You'll get more if it's level end to end (or if the front is lower than the back). The majority of the coolant just sits in the block.

I agree on most of it being in the block. I popped the freeze plugs out of mine to install the MMR Head Cooling Mod and each head dumped a monsoon of coolant everywhere.

So i lowered the car almost to the rotors touching the floor, filled it up with distilled, flushed it, but still only seeing like 2 gallons come out. However it's mostly straight water now. So how do i know how much to put in when i fill it? I bought pre-diluted thinking i would get 3.1 gallons out but i certainly still don't have that much coming out? I have four gallons of the new yellow
I
I can fill it until the degas bottle shows I'm between min and max but that doesn't tell me how much of the new ford yellow coolant is in there??

Try and follow this method with your extractor/fill kit. You’ll know it’s full when the vacuum gauge goes back to zero..

Yeah i did that exact procedure 3 times with the distilled water. Maybe i didn't actually get the larger radiator I'm supposed to have on a GT PP1?? I found all the systems, 3.1 gal is for v6 but the GT is 3.5 gallons. I still haven't seen 3.5 gallons go in or come out once. I just want to make sure there's enough coolant and if it's all sitting in the block and it's all water it's going to freeze in winter unless i flush and fill the system multiple times essentially wasting brand new coolant but I'll do that to not have my engine pop the plugs out this winter...

I think you’re looking at about 13.9 quarts of coolant for the PP. If you’re worried about getting all the distilled water out, you could just buy concentrated coolant and mix with the distilled for the desired ratio.

You will never get every last drop of coolant out of there. There’s just too many places for coolant to be. Some engines have drain plugs on the block, not sure on the coyote. That would be a large part of it. Some may be in the heater core. Any part that is not flexible like a hose is a potential place for coolant to get trapped even with the vacuum method. The modern cooling systems are not a big loop like they used to be so air and liquid end up diverting through different paths.

Yeah the concern here isn't a little bit of coolant it's two out of the 3 gallons. That's where I'm confused. Maybe about one gallon has come out.
out of three, one gallon flushes i have about 4 total gallons in my five gallon bucket. Im

it took 3 gallons to flush to clear water so that's about accurate for the flush. Here's a picture of a fully pressurized drain

When it comes time to actually refill the system once the ESS G2 is on, I'll just keep filling it with the yellow even if i have to drain it once, i have 4 gallons of pre-mix anyway, might as well flush it at least once with yellow 🤷‍♂️
