Compliments on your car

So I’ve had my Bullitt one month to the day. Stopped at a red right today and a car pulls up next to me and gives a quick horn honk. I look over and the guy gives me a thumbs up. I’m not sure how many times I’ve been in a gas station (OK - a lot - thirsty car with a small tank) and had people comment on the color, say that’s a beautiful car, etc. Had a guy last week say ”What is that? The color and style are amazing!”

I’ve owed a lot of cars (nothing exotic but some decent stuff) but I can’t believe the number of comments I’ve received in such a short time. New to the forum and haven’t been through too much of it yet. You guys get the same reaction?

Yesterda.y. Stopped at red light. 2 policemen start Walking crossing in front of me. One looking at me intently. He gets passed me and smiles with thumbs up. Phew!

Welcome to the “Hey — beautiful car!” Club. Happens to me at least once a week. Always seems genuine.

I once had someone insist it couldn’t be a new car. To them, it seemed “like an immaculate classic muscle car.” They just wouldn’t believe me that it was new — “they don’t make cars like that anymore.”

That was the best one yet.

I get them constantly. Lady in a minivan asking me at a red light if it's a Mustang, and saying its beautiful, guys giving me nods, people at WaWa asking me about it, one guy asked me if I'd drive out "really loud" because his 4yo loves Mustangs. People complimenting the color often, yesterday driving through Philly to work a guy on the side walked over to me and asked if it was a mustang and said how beautiful it was.

Best was a guy at the gas station asking if it was a Mustang and if so where are the Ponys? When I told him there aren't any on this trim he laughed "If I'm getting a Mustang I DAMN WELL better get Pony's on it!"

I'm amazed how many people are unsure it's a Mustang. I assume its due to the lack of any Pony or Ford logo clearly sticking out.

I used to get a lot on my Mach1 also, it was fun at a redlight look over and see people staring at my shaker from their car so I'd rev and make it crank to the side for them. Always made them smile.

The morning after I drove it home a lady neighbor came over to check the car out. She pointed out the very small Mustang logo in the corner of the headlights by the quarter panel. I had not noticed them yet.

I usually get compliments on mine every time I drive it. I was hoping to fly under the radar with Shadow Black but everyone still recognizes that it’s a Bullitt. On the highway I’ve seen people turning their heads 90+ degrees to look lolz. I’m just thankful to the people who park responsibly next to me.

I know, it's not a Bullitt so take it easy on me... but people really seem to be drawn to certain paint colors, I get compliments constantly on the ruby. Had an eye doctor appointment the other day and got a spot right in front of the door. Walked out and unlocked it and the receptionist came running out behind me and said wow fancy car, what is it? I love the color!

So far just compliments of the engine sound from my neighbor, from my rev-matched downshifts to 2nd, and 1st, when getting to my house, in sport exhaust mode, revving the engine to about 3K rpm. Nothing drastic, but car sounds incredible even at those mild rpm. That's the only time I downshift to 1st just for fun. Ha ha.

I dont understand the compliment thing, (I do) but it never benefits me. Lol. Ie. when im single, chics look at me and not a care in the world, but let me tell you. when I am taken and gf is with me, crap tons of hot chics stop at lights, Omg such a beautiful car! and such a beautiful couple!

I haven't gotten as many on my Bullitt as I did on the Ruby Red GT I used to own. Although while pumping gas today, a gentleman in a last generation WS6 Ram Air Trans Am was very complimentary

Constantly in parking lots and meets, and smiles at stop lights.
I got one from a dude riding in a nicely specced G-Class. It was in Vancouver BC.
He said: "Beautiful car."
I said: "Yours not too bad either!"
But he said: "Well I've seen hundreds of these... yours is the 3rd Bullitt I've seen."

When you take out your race red convert on nice days you tend to get a lot of attention. I gotta say the most unusual compliment though was 2 days ago getting gas....a guy said in his thick accent ...

“I very much like your red car, you must like it too, especially at Xmas and on Valentines...cause it’s RED”

Pretty much every time I drive. Mostly car guys. In NC last week, I had a Sheriff follow me into a gas station, I saw him follow and trail a few miles, then he pulled into gas station and approached me while I was pumping gas. He was really impressed, asked a lot of questions.

He was driving a Charger, and when he asked what the HP was I answered 480. He whistled and I couldn't resist asking 'wanna race?" we both laughed....

I do get many thumbs up, and am surprised at the attention it gets, because Mustangs are a dime a dozen..... But the Bullitt is distinct enough to get attention.
