Coilover Recommendations

im looking to pick up some coilovers for my 2022 gt without magneride. id like to spend around 2k, nothing over 3k. i daily this car with some canyon driving once or twice a week, and i plan to occasionally take it to the track. im currently looking at Bilstein B16 with Vorshlag Camber Plates, KW V1 kit, and BC Racing BR series as options, but am open to any other suggestions as well. also wondering if its necessary to pair a coilover setup with the steeda billet rear shock mounts?

If you're looking to get the best option for all around canyon driving and aggressive corner turns, the BC coils would probably be the best bet. They also come with the camber plates, so adjusting right off the bar is a breeze. As far as lowering the car, that's dependent on tire, brand, height etc... be mindful, that also could interfere with the alignment.

If you're looking for more of an enjoyable, proven system but not a coil over, I'd recommend our get a grip package level 4, this is an all in one package that actually would give you a little bit more than what you're asking. BUT, it's not a coil over.

Deadset on only doing a coil? I'd say doing the active Koni shocks and BMR handling springs will be a comparable equivalent.

Fortune Auto with your own spring set and unless you're wanting to slam the car, have them build them as tall/long as possible via custom request.. But really just splash out for the Ohlins or Bilstein.

All the cheap-ass coilovers (eg. BC/Tein/YellowDog) should be considered kits that you immediately tear apart, replace the main pistons and valving and put back together.

There's http://fealsuspension.com/applications/ which may be close to you and I would put on the same tier as Fortune Auto. I have dampers from Feal and FA and Yellow that I need to tear apart and document how good/shitty they each are.

I'm running FA 510 up front with 9" long 250lb/in springs with a shit-ton (3" or so) of preload to preserve stroke distance. I strongly recommend a 10" or longer spring or stack a 6 and 4.

Unless it comes from Penske, Ohlins, JRi, MCS or Bilstein the damping action is going to be 'meh' at best. I also had Steeda dual-rate springs and their Pro-Action adjustable dampers. They're pretty decent but not 'wow'. The Pro-Active dampers on the other hand were not as good. I don't recommend.

I’ve had BCs and now I have Feal coilovers, would highly recommend the Feals over the BCs in terms on on street comfort as well as track performance

They do - but they're for Magride cars (I think they have standalone kit too, not sure if for Mustangs) - made by Tractive I think and VDM is replaced by the DSC box.

All comes down to the calibration.
