anyone know exactly how much taller the cj is than the boss? Cuz i know people can get away with just trimming a small hole in the hood with the Boss. I dont know if u can get away with that with the CJ...

I just read on another forum that they are the same height...but I couldn't find any measurements to verify.

I wish I knew he was going to 131, I am literally 20 minutes away from there and I just ran at the recent test and tune!

Track update

This was not a good day for testing but a great day for ticket sales at the track,Jet cars jet truck and funny cars as you can see in the pick it was busy. In 11 hours RB only got 3 passes, working on tune adjustments with Lund on each pass. Here is one slip 11.61 @ 118.39 each tune adjustment was improving needed more passes but it`s on it`s way.RB has more info but is just now heading back home another late night and he is getting up early to race tomorrow at Osceola Drag Strip in Indian to get the tune improved for lower ETs and more MPH. He said it would have made it into 11.50`s on his last pass but he had to race in a class with open header 8 second cars and he staged deep with a soft launch. He can fill in with more info but turned out to be a long day for 3 passes maybe more passes tomorrow to finish working out the tune for better ETs to come. DA was 1947 car and RB weighted in at 3,865 He still had 3/4 tank of fuel. Today was 140 mile round trip to the track and he said car ran and drove great with the new setup. Hoping for lower ETs and more MPH tomorrow:thumbsup:

The best pic is the one with the hitch carrying fuel.:headbang: Just a reminder that you dont need the big $ truck and trailer to be a weekend warrior. Its even a bigger testament to the driveability of a mid 11 s550. Good stuff:ford:

Update

Okay here's the number 415 RWHP. Now many years of experience I know not to stop with the dyno, today at the track with LUND getting my data logs in just 3 passes we're hitting 118.4 mph DA 1,947', and that's without me staging and launching correctly. I'm having to change my launch technique since the power is in a new location. I do not caught up in dyno #s, sure they're cool and it sales parts but the dyno is just one aspect in tuning to make a car go fast. Even Billy Glidden has said just because you make #s or don't make #s on the dyno doesn't mean it will or will not translate to the track. The track is where were racing, the dyno will get you close so you don't spend several weeks trying to figure your car out. But if you think you're done when you leave the dyno....I hope you're going to the car show and not the 1/4 mile. I'm a spark plug reader, even though we have all this tech a plug will tell you what's happening and even that is only good for high gear at the finish line. For many years my cars had less HP and heads that had less CFM but I still laid down the #s in the 1/4 mile. Remember I will be doing other improvements and we'll forget that the CJ itake is still assisting in those improvements. Tomorrow I will be data logging more passes in Osceola Indiana, at this track I usually run 2-3 mph less than 131 MSP in Martin Michigan. I will be launching higher and see what the 17" DRs will take.
O.E.(operating experience) we share these in hopes that others will be able to avoid them. In the pics below you will see the damage to my car from a U-Haul trailer. You need to lay down a piece of wood to raise the car up to clear the wheel stop up front. With me in the car (200lbs) it lowers the car enough that when you go to unload the car it catches the bottom, pulling the bumper cover forward. So have a piece of wood that will stay under the front wheel during transit and have a spotter when loading and unloading. Don't worry I'll have it like new for tomorrow in Osceola. Every pass I made today it popped back out, this is what I'll be working on tonight. No rest for the die hard lol.

No I'm working at Cook Nuclear over by St. Joseph Michigan. The project should
be done spring 2016. Then I go wherever the next job is, maybe Georgia.
