I lowered my engine initially. Then I after a while I installed headers....had to raise the engine back up to stock height. I don't recommend lowering the engine.
So you don't have to lower your engine? The CJ will clear stock hood at stock engine height?

If you don't have the engine lowered then you need to cut clearance for the CJ where it meets the underside of the hood. If you look around you should be able to find pics of how/where it is done. If done right it can look stock.

GAS550 whos headers do you have

checking so to see so I dont go that route
Sorry for the delay. Haven't been on here in a while.
I'm running JBA headers. They were an extremely inexpensive alternative to ARH and they came titanium ceramic coated.
Also, I tried putting the stock motor mounts back on and I was rubbing the stock hood in other places besides the back of the CJ mani, so I put the UPR motor mounts back on and lowered it 1/4". Now it clears everywhere including the headers, except the back of the IM which I already had cut....so good to go.

New CAI for CJ

For all you CJ runners, I finally got everything running and tuned right with my new CJ cai. Tuned by Jon Jr @ Lund Racing. He did an amazing job! No driveability issues and it pulls harder than the frpp cai. I ran it at the track and the humidity was pretty high, but I couldn't get it to stick with Hoosiers. Got a lot more testing to do at the track to get it to stick.
For those of you that will ask, there was a bit of modifications to the radiator and just that entire area to get this cai to fit properly; this was no easy swap. There was quite a bit of fabrication involved. The radiator has to be moved forward about 2 inches which involves relocating the lower radiator mount, machining the top mounts, fabricating a bracket for the overflow tank, etc, etc. don't think you can just buy the cai and drop it in.

No but I was told they are revising all the s550 hoods to make them fit the cj
That cool do you know any possible dates? I already have a Stalker hood. Seems like I might have to sell mine.

I don't have a date but was told in a few months. I'd sell yours now before they start selling the others. Nobody will want the one you have if you wait

Looks ace and is certainly one way to keep those IAT's very low, just don't drive through any deep puddles. ;)

I was worried about that so I put an outerwears water resistant prefilter on it. Good to go!:headbang:

Did you have to cut the body to put the intake tube/filter through to the fenderwell area or is there already a hole there?

As far as the custom work you had to do, I wonder if a custom bent intake tube would have meant less chassis work to do? The CJ intake tube seems like a straight shot down which is why you had to move the radiator, but if you got a custom intake done with a little bit of a bend here and there would have fit around the radiator. May not be as pretty but should be easier to implement.
