Had Steeda Pro-action struts and shocks [non adjustable] installed with minimum drop springs at Ford dealer and on the way home heard clunking over bumps in right rear. After checking everything for tightness and removing and reinstalling r/r shock and torquing fasteners still clunking. Installed stock shock on r/r and noise gone! Called Steeda and they want me to send shock for evaluation to see if it's bad. Has anyone else had a similar situation?

Most aftermarket shocks will cause some noise. Different bushings used. My Vikings caused a lot of noise once I installed them. Everything is probably fine. No need to worry

No issues here after 10k miles on ProActions and Ultralite springs. No noises at all, actually.

I’m curious to what the diagnoses will be; these dampers are really well built so it will be a big surprise it they are the problem.

Issues typically come from some part of the install, like tightening the mount on to the shock, if you use an impact you could kill the shock.

Another noise issue as a result of installing springs, struts and shocks is the spring isolator not seated properly.

Yes. As I said above, many aftermarket shocks will cause noise. My Vikings make a lot of noise but I don’t dd the car so I just live with it. If I did dd the car, then I probably would’ve went a different direction. Glad you found the source!

Please pm your contact info and we will get a replacement out to you. Make sure on install that the dealer does not spin the shaft when tightening with a pneumatic air gun. that's what usually damages the damper and it will cause knock back. The shaft needs to be held stationary and torqued to spec.
Thank you,
