So I’ve had a clicking type noise from my rear end when taking off from a stop or coming to a stop and sometimes over bumps. I thought it was a bad wheel bearing, it seems identical to the bad wheel bearing videos for these cars, but I put a new one in today along with a new axle nut and it’s still there.. seems like it comes from the passenger side. I had all my suspension stuff in for awhile and had zero issues or noises, I had put all that stuff on myself.

So I put on all my suspension parts, had the car aligned for the first time and was driving it for a while like that and no noises at all.. then the BMR Camber Arms (UCA762) came in and I brought the car to the shop doing the alignment and had them put those on for me and then realign the car. After a few weeks of driving I started getting the clicking type noise coming from the rear passenger side. I’ve been under the car several times checking things, shaking things, pulling things, pushing things…

Today the only thing I found is the bushing on the Camber Arm seems to have been pinched and cut either during install or while driving.. the noise when I was laying under the car and pushing up on the suspension seems like it’s coming from the Camber Arm bushing, but at this point I don’t know if it is or I am making myself believe it is.. could this be the issue? I’m losing my mind here and don’t know if I should bring it back to the shop that installed them or go elsewhere, because if this isn’t my issue then I definitely need to find somewhere good to take the car because I can’t figure it out.

Any wheel spacers in there?

Is it a repetitive clicking sound that gets faster with wheel speed? Could be a CV joint. Have out put the car in gear on jack stands?

No wheel spacers and no it’s worse at slow speeds while taking off and starting to go... it honestly doesn’t seem worse or faster when picking up speed.. I have not put it in gear while on jack stands.. I could do that Thursday or Friday… I took it to the shop that installed the Camber Arms yesterday after sending them a email on Sunday night.. they said they ran into this issue once before. They ordered new bushings and a dust cover for them, said they will replace the bushings and pack the dust cover with grease.

I drove the car to the shop yesterday since they wanted me to bring it in and it was raining and I didn’t hear a single noise. They greased the bushings up until the new parts get here and I took the car to work today and it was fine until about 30 minutes into my drive and it started making noises again.. I’m not sure if the grease was washed away yesterday or what.. hopefully the parts come in by Friday and I can take the car in Friday.. it will be better if they can hear the noise for themselves, because I was looking like I was lying yesterday when the car was completely silent.

I hope this is the issue but I’m expecting the worst.. I have terrible luck.

I mean it’s gotta be the camber arms or axles at this point I’m assuming.

Figured I would update this incase anyone has the same noises and using aftermarket Camber arms or anything with a Heim Joint…

shop replaced the heim joints on my BMR Camber arms and the noise is gone, they brought the old ones to me and they definitely were shit, could barely get them move at all.

they replaced the heim joint and used these Dust Covers and packed them with grease to try to avoid this happening again.

feels good to have the car back to normal and I can enjoy driving it again.

I've been chasing down a rattling/creaking/clunking sound since last summer. I changed to BMR toe links then and the spherical bearings were seizing/shifting/seizing/shifting. I jacked up my car five times inspecting and tightened every bolt in the rear with no luck.

I finally figured it out last week. I had some OEM links to try and then the noise was gone.

So I ordered @Hotpart.com toe links since J&M brags so much about the quality of their spherical bearings. Installed those and the noise is still gone. I run their camber plates, too.

I have this clicking noise from the rear of my 18. At low speed, next to a wall or fence, it sounds like you have multiple nails in the tires as you slowly roll forward. Lifted my car and checked all 4 wheel bearings and all were good. Each wheel has no play, spins smoothly and quietly with no clicking. Checked each axle nut was tight, which both were. Spun driveshaft and half shafts, also quiet. Very puzzling.

Update on my clicking noise...I replaced my oem LR hub/wheel bearing assembly with a Moog unit. My car also had the blue, three pronged centered, thrust washer located between wheel bearing and the axle, which I did not replace. I studied on the function of this washer a good bit and really do not see the purpose. The half shaft axle has significant movement in and out so that washer thickness is negligible to clearances. Also noted that the OEM hub/wheel bearing is good at 68K miles. No play, no noise and rotates smoothly...guess I have a spare now. No clicking sound at left rear for now. I will pull the RR hub/bearing, inspect and if good, re-assemble without the blue thrust washer and see what happens. Watch the CJPony Parts YouTube video concerning hub/bearing replacement, for a good tutorial.
