Circle D or Suncoast

Looking for converter recommendations for a 2019 running a P1X. I know many use Circle D with great success but have heard of some issues with them. Suncoast makes what looks to be an option to consider but not much out there on them.

Thanks for the replies.... looks like Circle D may be the way to go then.... trying to get into the nines on 93/Octanium.... converter and maybe drop a pulley size or two

On a centri car you want the NA for higher stall.

When i had a n/a build with stage 3 cams i had a circle d 5c converter, worked great. When i added boost i changed the converter to an Fti 3200 rpm stall converter, works great has a lifetime warranty. They also have 10r80 converters also, you have to call for info on them.

As mentioned above. My Paxton didn’t have any balls off the line. So she needed a little help getting motivated. The centri’s pull as hard on the top end as a turbo car though.

So, what is the difference between the FI and NA version? Higher stall?

N/A you should get a higher stall, and you don’t lose drivability. With boost, it should be lower then n/a, unless your an all out race car. To loose a converter on boost & you lose some drivability. In other words the car becomes an on off switch ie: all or nothing..and less in between.

you can't go wrong with either. the benefit to the suncoast bolt together is it's almost 100% new unit, and you have the ability to change staters, replace clutch packs quickly if need be.

both are great companies though ,you can't go wrong with either. we have been 1.2 60's with both in our 2018 car.

i do have our old circle d sitting here for sale as well if you don't want to wait the 4 weeks on one. we are also doing some deals on the bolt together suncoast for the guys

Either one will perform better than stock! NA version is what you will want with the centri. The 240 suncoast with their looser stator would be a good option.

Need help deciding. Circle D offers their 258 mm NA converter in 4000-4400 stall and 4400-4600 stall. I understand the 4400-4600 is a new offering. Car is a daily with a 1 mile commute and is also used for short trip errands. It gets driven to track.

Go big. Imagine how close you’ll be to a 9 second slip with a 1.4 sixty.
