Whipple 10r80 Circle D or not ?

allright here we go i have Gen 5 whipple 3.325 Upper Stock lower ran 9.39 at 153mph (1.37 Leaving in First ,Full weight , MAGNERIDE , stock suspension excepte BMR spring ..best 60ft this day was 1.359 but cant have a full passe on this one ...

So my question is this winter im planning to Build my 10r80 and put Circle D and leaving In Second Gear this will affect me on the 60ft ? + Delete magneride Add Viking Crusader , Carbon DriveShaft , k member !
i think ill be much easier on the Rear-End , Axle and everything

Depending on the Stall speed, a Circle D torque converter would definitely help you get out of the hole better and should help you bring down that 60ft time. Although, with a 1.3, you're not far off by any means!

10r80’s don’t benefit from a torque converter a lot. A 6r80 will

I would not do a converter with a PD blower. I suspect you’d blow the tires off on a first gear launch with a higher stall converter. Just my 2 cents.

with the second gear leave, you’ll definitely want to get a converter most of the higher horsepower guys once you start getting close to that eight second range the second gear leave with converter is definitely the way to go

You should be able to get similar maybe even better 60 foot.

The second year leave gives you a little bit more control and is typically quicker once you get into the higher horsepower

My 2018 GT 10 speed with Magneride went consistent 1.27 60fts. Stock magneride, BMR bread and Butter package, Whipple G5 pre-production kit, triple pump fuel system, E85, Circle D converter and Lund tuned for a 2nd gear launch. I definitely feel the converter helped as well as the 2nd gear leave. Here's a link to my build.
