Is the best time to check oil when its cold and hasn't been ran? I checked mine other day and it was right in middle and i assume that is fine but it only sat for a min after running. Thanks!

If you wait 15 minutes after shutting off the car, the oil is so thin on the dipstick you can't read the level.

And heaven help you if you've got that damned strut bar in the way.

I check it cold, and figure it reads just a tad high.

Leaving it overnight, level surface would give the most accurate reading....strut bar in my opinion is not necessary....not like we are driving at the limit anyway. Take the strut bar off. We don't drive our cars hard enough for it to make a difference.
In my opinion that is.

Stiffening up the structure of the car does more than improve handling.

I'll deal with the PITA the strut bar is.

If the bottom hole on the dipstick has oil in it, it's fine. Trying to see the exact level on the dipstick is hard. But if you hold the dipstick up to light, you should easily see if there's oil in the bottom hole.
