I'm several months from possibly purchasing a S550, but what is the best recipe for 11s, but daily driven? I know the V8 guys swear by the Auto but does tye same go for the Ecoboost? Or is it just more cost friendly to step up to the Coyote?

The auto's are traditionally faster when tuned for several reasons. One they you can build brake boost. Two they are consistent. Three, they shift faster. I went with a 6 speed for the pure driving experience. I did all the drag racing in my younger days and while I still love it, I just wanted a car that was fast, fun to drive, and autocross/track day every now and then. If I was looking to build another street/strip car, i'd have gone auto. The auto in this car is very good.

As far as mods go, I'm assuming it's the usual Turbo road to success which is tune, downpipe, exhaust and a good set of tires?

I suggest tune, IC, tires to start. DP should be one of the last things you do, there isn't much there.

I noticed a big difference after my downpipe install. Others have reported the same thing. But the other things you named should come first.

I haven't seen anybody gain significant time at the track or dyno after DP. Butt dynos aren't a great indication of performance increases. ;)

Just ignore the temptation to go the usual route, save up, and get a kit from map or fftec. Map would be my choice. Adam can tune the crap out of these cars. Poof...youre at 11s

My plan is to get an intercooler then start saving up for the MAperformance turbo upgrade, and hopefully that will get me close to 11s.

Edit: Also some spark plugs :p

all mods except the Intercooler are nearly useless with out a tune, the Stock Programming will just pull all of your power.
Your mod List "IN THIS ORDER"
1: Tune, I went Cobb from MAP because you get that sweet Adam tune for free! Just run the Stage 1 OTS map until you get all your mods in place (Miles better than stock)
2: Intercooler, As mentioned above the stock is garbage, IMHO it was designed by ford to hobble the eco and keep more space between it and the GT.
3: Downpipe, With a tune will be good bang for the buck.
4:Cold air intake, The stock is actually quite good only a slight amount to be had here but it's easy to do.
5:Catback, Mishimotos's researsch shows that there is just not much to be had even going to full 3 inch on the stock turbo other than sound and weight and appearance, so it's an easy way to save $1k if none of those matter to you.
An Honorable mention goes out to the catch can, I believe no motor should be without one, especially DI motors due to the sludge build up on valves.

So yeah a map p1 kit plus intercooler, ~ $2.5K or P1.5 kit ~$3k wil have you at 320/420 whp/wtq or around 400/500 at the crank. Might get you in the low 12s/high 11's with a good driver and wheels If you got a deal on your eco like I did- $24k I'm at $28.5k including a new set of wheels.

A ticking time bomb ;)
Im surprised nobody has mentioned this but you can't forget suspension parts especially when you start making that amount of power there's no point if you can't put it down to the ground especially with those goals. About 1k or so depending on who you go with for a full setup

No need to spend money on bigger turbos. We went into the 11s with the simple bolt-ons anyone can buy.

Mods are:

2015 Ecoboost Auto
Tuned by Lund Racing with the nGAUGE
MS109

AirAid CAI
FFTEC Intercooler
UPR Off Road Down Pipe
Magnaflow Catback
Turbosmart BOV & Wastegate
UPR Dual Valve Catch Can
295/40/17 Drag Radials on Weld RTS wheels
Viking Rear Shocks
DSS Carbon Fiber Driveshaft

We cut a 11.9 in the nasty south Florida air (124 water grain) which will choke the turbo at higher roms and speed. We are looking to cut mid 11s this upcoming weekend in BG at NMRA.

Compare it to others... we have done more in less time with nature fighting us. lol

Here is the video
