Of course, the weight of the car plays a big factor in how much power is needed to accomplish the ET goal. HP/pound is just as important as amount of HP and where that HP/TQ comes in at from a start.

You don't need much power. LMR's 2018 ran 11.8 with a drag pack and only dynoed at 415hp



You can do it with less with a lighter car. About 350whp is all it takes to go 11.5 @ 115, your ET is all in the 60 foot
Power to weight ratio is exactly what makes the car fast. I was simply stating a rule of thumb. I’m a mechanical engineer, I have done all the math. The rule of thumb is pretty damned close in its range, i.e., up to about 10sec.
