No doubt a great looking sexy beast with tons of power and a couple of tons of weight. Superior to the current gt500..... Not for me! That said, I would give a thumbs up to anyone I see. Hell I give thumbs up to srt8 challengers & chargers. Just another quality take on American Muscle. The more the merrier!

You really should compare apples to apples. The Hellcat is from the factory, the GT1000 is from a tuner/aftermarket.

Congrats to Mopar. Will be fun to see what Ford has on tap. :)
I give up on the internet.

Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension a bit. I said what FORD has on tap not Shelby American. What will FORD's response to a 707 HP Hellcat be?

Maybe you should give up on the internet after all.

Apple = factory stock
Orange = aftermarket/tuner upgraded

GT500 = apple, Hellcat = apple

ShelbyAmerican GT1000 = orange

Apples to apples.

End of lesson.

I was posting the GT1000 for fun.

Then you deem it necessary to correct me.

Then teach me a lesson.

Over posting a link for fun....

Yes lesson Over indeed.

Superior horsepower, yes. The rest is either an opinion or isn't superior, really... Considering its nearly 4,500 lb weight w/o a driver, the GT500 will surely, as will the ZL1, annihilate this car in basically any speed contest.

On that, note: If I felt like I could afford to throw the money at it, I'd order one immediately. :thumbsup: The real problem is, I'd have to order 2, so I could drive one and let one appreciate.

It's no big deal, as each will be overpriced and maintain high resale, but the "factory stock" factor is worth remembering.

Yes, KUDOS to the Dodge family! Ford has NOTHING on tap for this car... They're way too busy building the next big thing while Dodge and even GM are boosting the last of their Mohicans... I don't see Ford or GM ever offering a 700+hp car in this field. Even they probably read the numbers on this car and went... :shocked:

The thing is, the Mustang and Camaro are so much better performers than the Challenger, they don't need as much power. I'm certain, the ZL1 and GT500 of 2014 will simply crush this new Dodge... but I still want that new Dodge!:cheers:

I am 100% happy that Ford has nothing to counter...reason?

Dodge can't even give proper attention to normal Challengers.

The 5.7L is coming on 6 years old in the R/T....SIX YEARS. They revised the intake in 2011 and that's it. 375HP 410TQ and no improvement for six years. No frame weight loss. No suspension improvement other then the 2013 SRT. No better paint, body panels or quality control even.

They can have the Hellcat and keep it. Dropping in a Charger interior, a new front/rear clip and hood and calling it refresh? All that money and R&D wasted on the Hellcat and you kick your main sellers to the curb no thanks. Nothing more then some overpriced shaker packages and scat packs.

Ford is focusing on the EB/GT advancement mainly and that makes me more then happy.

I'm curious Brent how many of those super secret probation points you have accumulated? Although your posts are still showing up :tsk:

Did you ever foresee Ford giving us a 662HP production Mustang? Be honest. I know I didn't... just sayin'. :) Anything's possible.

That being said, I do think the line is going to have to be drawn somewhere, soon, if it has not been already. This horsepower arms race obviously cannot continue, and Dodge may very well hold the bragging rights indefinitely... but unfortunately for them, numbers on paper don't mean much come race day. ;)

OK, sorry, maybe I came off a bit harsh. But look at your post I responded to it looks like you are trying to "one-up" the Hellcat with an aftermarket Mustang. Then the comment like I don't understand the GT1000 isn't a Ford. Got to be a little more specific or give more information. The internet leaves NO room for nuance or subtlety on a forum. Accept my apologies, but at least explain what you mean next time for me. ;)

I'm sorry to and appreciate the apology and explanation.

Wasn't a one up just a "if you want to really impress smash the 1100 HP mark" then I'd have my jaw on the floor lol
