Been a month or so now...
It's gonna be soon. They wanted to try one more change and put a few miles on it. They're working super hard to make sure it's everything they want and what we all expect it to be. And unless I'm just completely wrong, I think it'll be well worth the wait, especially with this new update.

I am as anxious as everyone else to get my hands on one, maybe even more so, but I see the effort they're putting into it, so it makes it worth it to me.

They're not just trying to shove a product out there that's subpar to make a buck from all of us, and if that means I wait a couple of more weeks, then so be it. I'm fine with that.

I am excite.

Many anxious.

I will be getting one. I've had my eye on this since I joined this forum.

Me too. It's not going to be much longer at all, if everything goes according to plan. I want to get one on and have some fun before winter gets here.

I can't wait to see the results. Looking forward to seeing the improvements on 93 octane as e85 is out of the question for me

Wow, okay. I've been talking with Cavalli on a regular basis to stay updated with the progress of this turbo. I've tried to let you guys know a little bit so you don't lose hope for it, but it would seem that the negativity hasn't been displaced much.

I've limited what I've shared because I don't know how much they want out there, plus, it's Brad's thread, so I'm not trying to take over it. Both Brad and Cavalli have been very hard a work on this turbo. They've tested tons of combinations for the wheels in the turbo and have been very prudent in trying to produce a great product. They've also been very transparent in the fact that they just don't want to throw something out on the market that isn't going to work well for the cars to grab cash and move on to the next thing.

It's not like they took a stock turbo and upgraded the wheels. Everything about this turbo has been redesigned from the ground up. That takes time and that takes testing. I'm sorry if that hasn't met up to anyone's time scheduling expectations, but I'd prefer to have a product that's perfect for the car and took a year and five months to produce rather than sh*t product that was just thrown out on the market for a money grab.

If you're as annoyed as what you seem to be with the progress of this turbo, there's a lot of great options already out there, e.g. CP-e or Adam's GTX kit. I'd suggest looking into one of those.

You really only have two options though. You either a) upgrade with another kit and be done with it or b) be patient and wait. Being hostile on the internet isn't really going to do much in the way of bringing it to the market any quicker. I'm not trying to be a dick, but what more can I say or do about it.

For me it's worth the wait, I'd love to see how this holds up against the VS2 turbo with the twin scroll adapter I believe they made(correct me if I'm wrong)

Oh, for an update they have/are releasing a limited number of turbos for sampling, I was offered one and opted for it to go to someone else.

I know you have been diligent, and you share what you can, in fact I only write here because youre kind enough to give updates. I too am waiting on this to see where I go. i was convinced on a kit but now ill wait. thrust me my comment wasnt directed to you, youve been great.
It was just hilarious to be called a whiner for asking for monthly updates. like literally. where is the post where im whining about it???:lol::lol:

In hindsight looking back at the original post "Coming soon.....Comp turbo!" on
3/25/2015 that can be misleading. I believe in setting proper expectations. You don't want to over commit and then under deliver. I can understand frustration from folks when that was originally posted. The updates from the insiders as I call them have been solid though(Juben). They should just flat out say we have another 2 months or whatever instead of continuing to say almost there. In the real world you have milestones that are set, and if those milestones are not met you have reasoning behind that and you set new milestones. This thread is old as dirt. If folks keep acting like fools hopefully it will get closed and then the vendor can make a new post if they ever move a product to production capability that hopefully will be much easier to follow then 33 pages.

I agree... you don't start a thread 03-25-2015 with a title of "coming soon"...

That is a huge failure, IMO.

But no one asked me... and I won't purchase one anyway... not even sure why I felt the need to even type this.

See who I can make mad... :D

First, I feel obligated to say that 4G63 > all.

Second, the reason I've been vague with timelines is to prohibit taking over the thread and because I know those things can change quickly. They've given me what I'd consider to be best guesses on milestone timelines, and for what it's worth, they've mostly hit them, but unforeseen things still happen. If things had went according to plan the last two weeks, I'm sure some people would have already been getting emails, but there's one more tiny thing they wanted to try for a very small amount of miles to see if it'd improve performance just a hair more.

Like I've said several times now, they really are working hard to make sure this turbo is gonna be the best stock location (not stock frame) option on the market. And although hearing that it's gonna be a few more weeks is terribly disappointing, I can totally understand why they're doing it and appreciate their effort.

With that said, can we start talking about turbos again and put the bickering behind us? It's not helpful to any of us and just craps up the thread.

As always, once I hear something more — hopefully this week — I'll let you guys now. Maybe Brad will get to drop back in soon with some updates and his impressions.

Can't we just give them the benefit of the doubt? I have to believe that when they posted "soon" 17 months ago, they believed it would be soon. Things happen and the environment changes. I'm willing to bet that along the development path, they saw room for improvement, an opportunity to better meet demands or a way to further benefit the end product and decided to adjust.

Sure, they could have just thrown out their first version to the public but then it might have not been a great product, potentially damaging their reputation and maybe hurting further sales in this and other platforms. Instead, they decide to alter the course to better meet our needs and develop a better product. We've heard hints to this like that the EB engine wants a lot more air than we first expected to make good power.

Trust me, I don't know these guys and I'm not connected at all. It's just called being a human being just a little understanding. I'm sure they honestly believed it would have been soon if things went as planned. I'm sure we've all done things that didn't follow the course we initially imagined. All the drama on this forum sometimes is just ridiculous... I for one am just happy that we have a platform with tons of aftermarket support. I appreciate every vendor that develops for our car. That competition for business benefits us all.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: holy crap thats even funnier!!!this shows how much you actually know and how meaningless it would be to keep on replying. The 4b11 is not a slightly tweaked 4g63, Its an ENTIRELY different engine in aaaaaall aspects, the fact that it says 2.0 on the plastic valve cover thingie doesnt mean its the same. The 2.3 ecoboost actually IS a slightly (if something) tweaked mazdaspeed engine :lol::lol::lol::lol: Youre right on one thing, its not even worth trying:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
Uh no like the 4b11 the EB is different than the Mazda motor.
