They should know within 100 miles or so whether they're going to go with the updated combo, then they're going to start assembling the turbos. It's not that the old combo was bad or performed poorly, but rather, there's one more small change that they wanted to make to eek out just a hair more efficiency. If it pans out, I don't think any stock location replacement is going to touch this turbo. They've put a ton of time and money into this turbo and are working hard to make sure it's the best option out there.

Well what other stock location turbos does it have to compete with? Just Vargas right?

There are more coming. People are just taking their time to be diligent in their engineering and design. I still think this turbo is going to be hard to match. Who knows though? That's what I love about competition in the marketplace. It drives everyone to be better.

I'm looking for a $1,500 pre-sale price. I know it's not likely, but a man can dream can't he?

That will be a nice 450 -500 hp deal, should spool quick with a 56 mm turbine wheel and the twin scroll housing. Would be really neat if it was ball bearing as well.

If you're seriously interested in a pre-sale, I'd recommend contacting them. The 55/56 was one of the first combos they tested, iirc. The new combo is much better though. Trust me. :headbang:

I think you'll be extremely pleased. Like I've said before, it should be quite the performer.

Correct. They use their own triple ceramic ball bearing CHRA.

So far I'm having really good luck with the Vargas Turbo, and this one sounds great though with the ceramic ball bearings. I'm gonna for once in my life, not buy something I don't need badly. Exciting we have lots of stock appearing Turbos available !!!

Ceramic ball bearings will make your car go "Whoooosh!"
I just hope it sounds like a jet turbine spooling up. Not that loud though

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there a point where the turbo isn't the problem but rather the fuel supply is? Where's the line where this turbo flatlined on the stock fuel system?

Oh, crap. Now that I know this engine is built off the same base engine as a mazdaspeed 3 engine, there's one critical question; who makes the best oil separator?
