Removed the carbon trap inside of the stock air intake on a 2023 mach 1, apparently its supposed to free up the lost 10 horsepower on the 2023 Mach 1,

I have to say, I took the car for a rip right afterwards and there was a noticeable imimprovement, when reading online guys are mentioning 18 hp gains, I can’t say I’m feeling that much but it did give it quite a little kick bottom end, even top end seemed a bit more free and open,
Could it be mental? I don’t know maybe,

That seems way high for just removing the trap. I wonder those claiming 18 hp have been tuned as well?

Have you considered doing dyno pulls with and without the trap back to back on the same day to see what if any gains are made? You can probably get 3 dyno pulls for $75.

There’s a couple YouTube videos of guys who have done dyno pulls and I mean the numbers do show the improvement of 18+ but I just don’t know, I have to do it myself,
like I said there is a noticeable improvement, if I had to put a number on it just by feel maybe 8-10 HP,

right on. now yer in darkhorse horsepower territory,
if yer making 20hp (close enough), you should now be 2/10ths faster.
you'd be lucky to get 2hp.

Not sure. My buddy has a 2022 Mach 1. He removed his carbon trap a while ago. I’ll ask him what he thought about the seat of the pants feel and whether or not he intends to dyno it eventually. I know he does want a tune on the car.

On a 157 hp 82 GT you would definitely notice an 18 hp gain, but on a 470 hp 22-23 mach 1 you would probably never notice.

Yep, this right here. And I’ll emphasize that was 18 wheel HP!

So if you’re among the naysayers the only option is to call Tony out as lying about the dyno results or maybe he‘s lying about the whole dyno test. I see no other option, so I’ll wait right here while you call him out.

The guy seems real credible to me and I see no reason to doubt him.

Nobody said he's lying. If your gaining 18 wheel than you'll be 2/10ths faster everywhere. So, let's see.

I’m all for someone picking up Free.99 power from a simple mod like this, especially given how much parts cost otherwise, to achieve substantial hp gains. In looking at the trap, I can certainly see how it would be a restriction.

Heck, I wish I had a trap to remove to pick up a Free.99 gain. Instead, I had to add up all the expensive individual mods to get huge gains.
