water trapped under HP rear spoiler

Anyone notice water seems to get trapped under the rear spoiler corners on the HP cars. My car has never been in rain, but I've washed it many times, and noticed even after blowing off spoiler and deck lid with compressed air, water gets trapped and seeps endlessly days after a wash. Nothing is cracked, and no water appears inside rear deck after removing rubber plug cover that secures spoiler nut

i have the same thing happen. i think its due to the wing not being a perfectly tight fit against the trunk, especially out towards the ends. there is enough room under there for pain in the ass water drops to hide. i blow it out with air after washing. the next day i'll hit it again to get the remaining water and it seems to be good to go.

It's most noticeable when you open and close the trunk. Even after a week or two, and multiple compressed air drying's, water still drips out. Can't be good for water to be trapped in there.

Same here, I blow it out after washing and then have to use detail spray and a microfiber the get the rest a few hours later.

Maybe the air blower is pushing the water underneath the spoiler.

Do you have the holes under the spoiler closed off with shorter screws when not running the Gurney Flap? Maybe water is getting into the inside of the spoiler when being washed and seeping out over days that way?

Agree, that's not good.

It's normal for water drips/drain out on many vehicles with rear spoilers attached to the decklid. It's more common if you don't drive the car often after a wash. If you wash, park and only drive a day or don't lift trunk lid, yes residual water will still be pooling.

The only ways you would be able to remedy that is:

- Put clear silicone all around the base of the spoiler where ever it meets the decklid.

- Remove the spoiler, remove all old double sided tape, clean spoiler base and decklid with rubbing alcohol Get the 3M VHT double sided foam tape, install it on bottom of spoiler and then hope it made a good seal between the decklid and spoiler base.

It's worse when the water doesn't drip out. It's actually a good thing that it does. If it didn't you could see rust in just a few years.
