Pulling the bumper is fine a few times, but you dont really want to be repeatedly pulling the bumper on and off and on and off. The bumper plastic doesnt take kindly to abuse, and when it gives up, welp new bumper. The underbody is both cheaper to mess up and more durable to repeated abuse.
