If you can, please ask them what could have caused the issue. Did they ever try any software updates to the PMC before deciding to order the new one?

Had you been experiencing any other glitches like backup camera working in reverse and not cancelling in 1st gear, navigation/radio screen freezing up, or other bells and whistles going off on the dash that were uncommanded?

It’s always hard to get straight answers when you have to go through the service advisor, but I’ll do my best to get those answers 👍

Absolutely no glitches or other issues before this happened. Before this, she’s been perfect 🤷‍♂️

Quick update: Got the car back from the dealership after having the PCM replaced. Seems to be working fine now, but since it was an intermittent issue, I’m not quite 100% confident yet. Time will tell!

Did the Service Tech have any idea what could have caused the issue?

Unfortunately, they didn’t offer up an explanation, other than (paraphrasing) “sometimes things go bad”.

Here are the tech/repair notes if anyone is interested:

Looks like a solid diagnosis. I wonder if the bad pin fitment issue found caused the ecm fuel pump driver to burn out from the excessive resistance
