I’d like to see them in person before I make a final judgement on them. Pictures definitely don’t do them any favors though.

I do appreciate that they continue to offer CF wheels though. And $8k as the option price isn’t terrible (although you do also have to select the handling pack to get them).
I’m all for CF but I don’t think I need to see those in person. That’s just wrong.

How about a forged wheel option instead of dropping $9,000 on carbon fiber wheels that nearly everyone takes off because they're too expensive for them to risk damaging?

Side note, the price creep on the S650 in two years is insane. I just built a mostly loaded GT and it was 70K! For a GT! The same car early in the 2024 model year was 63K. The fact that you can price a Dark Horse to over $90,000 is absurd.

I would beat the living crap out of these specific wheels without blinking. These are the perfect track wheels that just ask to be abused.

CF wheels are quite strong and can be repaired if damaged. There’s a thread in one of the Shelby sections about repairing damaged CF wheels. They’re also lighter than forged wheels, so as Tosha said, they actually make for great track wheels.

Considering what "Expensive" wheels cost, I'd say 8k is reasonable for those turds.

100%. I think when the 350R first came out, I heard a number like $20K for the actual cost of the CF wheels (the price Ford actually charged was lower). $8K is a good price for CF wheels. There’s definitely more expensive options out there

Yeah, I agree. I was mainly just commenting about the number of people that I see swap out their carbon wheels immediately. Personally, I can’t imagine spending 9 grand on wheels and not using them.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but hit up cargurus, set distance to nationwide, set years to the 2024-2025 then look for the Darkhorse…. There’s a ton of brand new 2024-2025’s listed in that application, I’m sure you could find a few.

Did anyone mention to try Zach on here @ Granger?? He’s been helping M6Gers for a few years now on this site to get their dream stangs…. Hit him up too.

Hey guys! Thank you for mentioning me! I truly wish I could help, but when it comes to the Dark Horse, we are only allocated 1-2 a year. Currently, they have been spoken for, but I am happy to make myself a note for when we receive another allocation!

Zach-
Merry Christmas to yourself, your family and staff. Happy selling!
Not as an afterthought- everyone else here as well. Or Hanukkah. Or both. :like:

Had my car in for an oil change today and my dealer had a DH in the showroom (also had a 60th fastback in Wimbledon, beautiful car). First time seeing a DH in person. Blue Ember is ok as a color, at least in showroom lighting. It didn’t wow me as a color though. Automatic and had the Notorious Blue painted calipers. The overall look of the car is fantastic. Tried to get them to let me take it for a test drive but was told they don’t want any miles other than factory miles on it. It’s their first of 2 allocations (second one is in transit) for 2025. They’re hoping for one or two more allocations but they don’t know if they’ll get them.

I’m a fan of S650 in general, I do think it’s a good Mustang (yeah they’re expensive but what new car isn’t these days).

Just buy used S550 and off rental or NOS 2024 S650....no one in their right mind would pay full price on any S650 especially DH that won't move off showroom floor and 2022 S550s with low milage are 2/3 of new price in some markets especially GTs that few can afford as DD.
