just installed steeda springs. How do you adjust rear camber? I took it to an alignment shop. They couldn't figure out how to adjust camber.
Thanks

First of all, don't go back to that shop. Secondly, the rear comes with camber bolts that allow for camber adjustment.

Thanks but where are the camber bolts? The alignment guy said the only way to adjust was with the toe links.

I'm on Eibach Sportlines... One shop told me "the rear camber can't be adjusted" and then I showed them the manual, they said it can't be done. Fuck off.

Then, this week I took it to a dealer who just said their alignment rack couldn't get a good reading. Wtf.

I really hate everything I've had to deal with for this car.

Thanks Boardkat that's just what I need. Took it back and they did it right. Told me this was the first one they did and didn't have the specs on the mustang yet.

Yeah I had the same problem, I was watching the guy and the computer was telling him what to do step by step but I noticed he was using the 13-14 instructions and when he got to the back he didn't know what to do.... So now I've made an appt with a different alignment shop that is well known here in the Los angeles area

If you only lowered the car 1 inch your camber is probably still in spec.

Lowered one inch but my camber was -2 on the right and -1.6 on the left I wanted at least the same on both sides. So now it's -1.5 on both sides. Took it to an auto cross today it handled great I just have to get used to it all over again. Turning was so much faster I kept hitting one cone. Got the fastes time but +1. O well will kick ass and take names tomorrow.

Finding a good alignment shop is sometimes hard to do. My #1 guy closed down. Looks like I might invest in a few portable alignment tools and start doing it myself. A 4 wheel alignment in my area runs $100.00. I've been looking at this, or something similar:

Gotta get the car first though. And with the UAW contract expiring next month, I'm not confident now on a September delivery. :D

That is all...

That's pretty cool! I would love to be able to an alignment at home so I can avoid the hassle of other people not caring. Too bad the tool to check toe is nearly $1000...

Yep, "Not caring" or in previous posts, NOT KNOWING! The Theory of DUH at it's finest!

Toe-in can be set with a string or a 2 x 4 and a Sharpie if need be. Plenty of videos out there. Rear camber can actually be set with a machinist's square and a scientific calculator to calculate the angle. After a rear IRS rebuild on my T-Bird, I got the camber within .1 degree on one side and dead nuts on the other. Did take it to get it all lined up though, just wanted to get it close. Of course for $300.00, that caster/camber gauge should replace the machinist's square AND the calculator.

I'm still lazy though (takes ALL my time), and still looking for a good shop that does 4 wheel alignments. If not, going to talk to some friends about splitting the cost of a good toe gauge.

That is all...

You just nailed two of the reasons why I've learned how to do lots of things for myself. And specific to alignment, throw in most shops' unwillingness to adjust any of the various angles to settings provided by the customer.

Well, I got 2 outta 3. ;) Forgot about "Unwillingness"! I've was even turned away from a Discount Tire Store once... the manager wouldn't mount the tires I brought in to have mounted. Said they were NOT the proper size for the car. The Theory of DUH at it's finest!

Found a guy some years back that would gladly setup my T-Bird EXACTLY how I wanted it. Had a brand new Hunter alignment setup. Used to put 150 lbs in the driver's seat too. But they're closed now. With the new one on the way, I'll have 2 IRS cars. It'll be worth the investment and no hassles about setting it the way I want it. OR "tinkering" with it to make it handle better.

That is all...
