Ok, I'm tired of slipping my camber bolts and figure it is time for some plates, or slotting the strut.

I've narrowed it down to J&M because of the bearing design, I don't like the caster adjustment.
And Steeda, not sure I like the teflon bearing. I know these wear pretty fast.

I know there are others but my budget for this is in the 300 range. A few hours of labor slots the struts. I am a cheapskate. I would just slot them but I would like to get rid of the rubber in the top mount.
Advice?
Thanks.

If you don't want the rubber in the top mount, Vorshslag and MMR both use built-in solid top mounts. MMR would keep you under budget. Without that rubber though, you may hear a little chatter (I have the MMR plates and I do get a little chatter from them). MMR also has no castor adjustment, so nothing to mess with there.

MMR may also not send you the correct top nut/washer if you're using OE style struts...hopefully they've fixed this oversight by now but easily fixable.

I have BMR camber plates and pretty happy with them. Also very reasonably priced at $175

With our plates you can simply set the caster in the forward position which is stock and just lock it in place and then adjust the camber. I believe we are also the only ones that offer a lifetime warranty on the spherical bearing.

Do your plates add NVH? I don't mind a bit of noise, but this is primarily a street car and don't want my passengers to think the car is a worn out POS.

Anytime you remove the factory rubber and replace it with a bearing you will increase the NVH. With that said we have never had a customer complain about an increase in NVH and I don't notice any with my cars with our camber plates.

I just bought some J&M plates to use with my Ohlins R&T coilovers I am installing. I have also used Maximum Motorsports plates and been satisfied with them no issues.

I just placed an order for the J&M plates. I'll pass on a review.

If it helps, my MM plates also use a bearing and I didn't hear anything. You might get a slight "thud" on sharp bumps or something but that's about it. NVH is low for this kind of part imo. You probably won't even notice anything.

Do I need to keep the washer between the top of the strut and the camber plate?

OK, it seemed notchy when I put them together, when I used the washer there was not enough thread engagement on the strut nut. When installed the strut turned smoothly. Thanks for answering.

There is definitely more road feel with these plates. Still mostly in the seat the steering is still dead feeling. I did add PP control arms at the same time so not sure how much each contributes, but turn in is much crisper. I suppose the next purchase is the front control arm bearings.
