I thought the $3,000 convenience package included the Ford heated and cooled seats. Their photos show the Recaros. Am I forgetting something?

I've been anxiously awaiting C&D update on this test too. We'll see how they do with oil consumption.

Good eyes to see that, maybe the vehicle wasn't full warmed up before the pulls which limit rpms to 8000 perhaps?

Nice to see all the other numbers improve though as well. Seems like reviewers are getting better at launching these cars.

Has anyone else ever noticed though (I'm assuming only a nut job like me would notice this) that the GT350's 130-150mph of approx. 7 seconds is near identical to the 5.0 GT's 130-150mph time? Both the 130mph and 150mph come up 7 seconds sooner for the GT350, but I was very surpised to see the delta's between 130mph and 150mph being the same for both cars. Is the GT350 dying on the top end or does the Coyote suddenly gain 100hp after 130?:shrug:
I'd bet it has to do with gearing. I'm far too lazy to track it down, but it'd be nice to see the gear/mph/rpm splits of both cars side-by-side.
Maybe at 130-150 the Coyote is high in the rev-range and possibly the Voodoo just shifted and is lower in the revs?
Idk, spit-balling while being lazy.

Ford raced the Boss 302 engine for 2 years before they brought the Boss 302 to market. Then raced another 3 years in several series. Why only one year with the voodoo ? Don’t say they won the championship because there was only one other car in the continental series. Magazine long term test garbage. Sold my track pack one year ago for $57K. Today lucky to get $45K.
Sorry wasn’t a fan after owning one. Lazy down low and all.

Soooooooo I decided to be unlazy.
Looking at this, there is indeed a shift in the '350's run. 4th runs out at 141mph. So there's a shift to 5th in there.
A PP GT tops 4th out at 117mph and 5th out at 154mph. (assuming 7000rpm)
Therefore, as I suspected, yes, the '350 is shifting while the GT is right in the goods.

C&D is usually pretty good with the facts, though I have called them out a few of times, and had 2 of my letters to the Editor printed in the Backfires section, over the years.

I've stuck with C&D over the years. Can't hardly make it through a Motor Trend or Road & Track for all the glitz, graphics, artsy crap, lame articles, etc and gave them up many years ago.

Well, at least it hasn't developed a death rattle yet. All is good as long as the oil holds out.

So about one quart per 1500 miles. Reflects what others are seeing. Would be interesting if they would evaluate the engine at completion of the test to see if there is an identifiable abnormality or if all checks out and this is just normal consumption for this engine as Ford says and most of us believe to give some more peace of mind.

Sounds fair and about right. They love the car, but it needs a bit more attention than most other cars due to the nature/quirks of the GT350. But, if you are willing to do that you are rewarded with a driving experience that can't be achieved by most new cars that are available today.
